Lady Aumbrey, of course, knew that she could afford any fur coats out there in the world, but as someone who was aiming for something, even if this coat was something that she loved, she must let Diamond get it at all costs.
Waving her hand nonchalantly, Lady Aumbrey responded, "Just take this as making friends."
Upon hearing the word friend, Diamond’s eyes even shone brighter.
’It seems that my friend’s radar with the old ladies has been triggered again. It seems that I have such great luck with them.’
"Hehe, then I won’t disappoint you. Let’s become great friends in the future!" Diamond happily said as she looked sincerely at the other.
She didn’t know what the other was planning to do, and why she was being too enthusiastic. But to her, as long as she didn’t sense any malicious thoughts from the other, then it was safe.
Seeing how Lady Aumbrey was treating her, she could tell that there was something that she didn’t know, and it made her feel curious.
However, at the same time, she didn’t want to use Andrea’s help to gather information on the other.
As much as that would help, if she continues to check into everyone who approaches her, then how would she be able to make real friends?
People have their secrets, and unless they would harm her and her family, their secrets would be safe with them.
However, once they start reaching their hands towards what is hers, then that would be a different matter.
She wouldn’t mind spending money to eradicate more people.
Since she was able to do it once, who said that she couldn’t do it again?
Unaware of Diamond’s thoughts, Lady Aumbrey, who had successfully managed to get what she wanted, heaved with relief and finally became at ease.
With the new relations being made, the charity banquet was also in full swing.
And with so much happening there, all attention was shortly put into what was happening to the front.
As for chatting among friends, didn’t they have time to do so?
As a charity banquet, it was normal for them to put a few things at auction. After all, the purpose of hosting such events with rich people was to suck their pockets dry.
So, when the auction started, Diamond’s attention was on that and watching as some crazy items got auctioned for crazy amounts. She could only suck cold air, truly amazed at how people really loved spending.
The auction lasted for some time and during that period, Diamond didn’t find anything that she was interested in, so she didn’t even bother to waste her money.
Money didn’t fall from the sky after all. At least, she should take a liking to that thing before even thinking about buying it.
Just when she thought she would be leaving without spending a single dime, something caught her eye.
"The next item for auction is a landscape painting by the famous artist *******. It’s ..." The lady in red described the painting in detail, and Diamond couldn’t even hear that.
Her eyes were stuck on that painting. She was seeing a stretch of a beautiful mountain range. Seeing it reminded her of the wonderful scenery of the Golden Space. Although she rarely explored the space as much as expected, that space was very beautiful.
"Do you like it?" Wyatt seeing her earnest interest in the painting, nudged her as he asked.
Diamond, without turning her head to look at him, nodded as she responded, "This is mine!" her tone was very firm.
"I think that he is just looking for trouble. He could have stopped the bid earlier."
"At this rate, if that lady pulls out, he will suffer greatly."
"I don’t think that the lady would bow down though. She is very determined."
And surely, Diamond was very determined. It was very rare for her to find something that wasn’t clothes, cars, houses, buildings and jewelry she liked so much.
So why let it go just because someone was playing games?
In the end, Diamond won the bid for the painting at G$20 million. As for whether it was worth it or not, she knew that to her it was perfect. She would put it in the living room or somewhere she could see properly.
"Lady Perry finally won the painting. Congratulations on your win!" the lady in red announced as she gave Diamond a slight bow.
Diamond nodded at the lady with a smile blossoming on her face.
With that announced, she couldn’t help but look in the direction of the man who wanted to make things difficult for her and rolled her eyes.
Seeing her doing something like that in public, Wyatt chuckled, finding the idol he knew back.
Diamond was a person who settled her grudges right there and didn’t let it ferment.
The others, seeing that, couldn’t help but be taken aback. Just how much guts did this foreigner have for her to act like that towards that man?
Didn’t she know who he was?
