The mother and son talked about several things and when people are occupied, time tends to tickle by fast.
Diamond found herself showing her ID at the embassy gates and once she was approved, she drove smoothly inside.
She parked her car at the visitors’ parking lot. Once that was done, she gave Dewei a call.
The call rang a few times before it was picked up.
[Hello, Diamond!] Dewei greeted her in the Gesalsi language.
Diamond smiled knowingly when she heard that. It seemed that Dewei either watched her broadcasts or her parents told her about how she could converse in Gesalsi. f\ree webn ovel(.)com
"Hello, Dewei. I have arrived," Diamond answered with a smile plastered on her face.
[I will be down there in like ten .... Let me finish something here pretty quickly!]
"Um. I will wait for you then," Diamond said as she rubbed her hands while looking at the magnificent office building.
[Thanks. I won’t take long,] Dewei responded before hanging up.
Knowing that Dewei would be coming after a while, Diamond didn’t wait while being idle but took out her tablet from the tote bag.
She hadn’t touched her tablet today or surfed through the internet at all. Rather than waiting in silence, she decided to check her social media accounts and see what was brewing there.
While checking these, time once again tickled by. She was all smiles and laughing now and then seeing the hilarious things online.
{Mother, she is coming!} Suddenly, Andrea’s voice sounded in her ear as she was surfing.
When she heard that, she stopped what she was doing and raised her head. Surely, she spotted Dewei walking towards the parking lot with her phone in hand, probably dialing her number.
While thinking like that, her phone started ringing and when she saw the person calling, a smile blossomed on her face.
There was no need to waste Dewei’s units, so she hung up the call and alighted from the car.
The moment she got outside, Dewei, who was about to call again, spotted her immediately.
"Diamond!" Dewei exclaimed with happiness the second she saw her, and that twinkle in her eyes was enough to make Diamond feel that the trip was worth it.
"Dewei!" Diamond called out to the other enthusiastically as well.
Dewei, uncaring for her image, increased her pace and she looked as if she could take off at any time. Despite wearing heels, Dewei looked like someone who was wearing flats.
When she remembered how ladies in Gesalsi loved their fashion so much that they were willing to bear the cold or wear heels to accentuate their figures and beauty, she was no longer fazed by what she was seeing.
The guards watching from afar, witnessed as the blend of different color tones and nationalities became one. The two people were like best friends or rather best sisters. If it wasn’t for the skin tone, they would have believed that they were one.
After all, if they weren’t mistaken, the light brown-skinned girl was speaking the Gesalsi language as if she was born there. Just what kind of person was she?
They couldn’t help but be curious.
Meanwhile, on Diamond and Dewei’s side, after exchanging pleasantries. Diamond, who didn’t have too much time to play with someone who was supposed to be working, got straight to business.
’Diamond perhaps didn’t use her baggage allocation to me, didn’t she?’
Diamond stood by the door, with one leg inside and the other out while holding the car door and answered, "Sure. How about Sunday? I have something going on Saturday," agreeing to the appointment.
Dewei inwardly pumped her fists in victory when Diamond said that and smilingly responded, "That’s okay. I will send you the details in the following days. Is it fine?"
Diamond didn’t see anything wrong with that, so she agreed to it. As long as she wasn’t paying, she didn’t mind where she would be going.
Seeing her agreeing, Dewei heaved a sigh of relief before biding Diamond’s farewell for real this time.
Diamond waved her hand at Dewei with a smile and got into the car.
Dewei watched as Diamond buckled herself up, started the ignition, put the gear in reverse and then looked at her as she said, "See you on Sunday, Dewei!"
Dewei smiled at her and waved as the car reversed. "See you then."
Diamond returned a smile to her before putting all her focus on what she was doing.
Dewei watched as Diamond reversed her car smoothly and moments later, she was driving out of the embassy yard without a hitch.
Looking at the expansive car driving away, Dewei’s eyes were filled with envy for a moment before it disappeared when she thought of what she had achieved in these years.
Thinking about that and then her proud parents. Her eyes crinkled with a smile.
Why be envious of others? She might as well continue to work hard and continue making her family proud.
With that in mind, she happily returned to the office, eager to face the curiosity of the gossipy colleagues of hers.
