Diamond finished her meeting with the organizers a pretty bit late.
She also dined at the club and ate her fill before she departed for home.
It was very late, and she knew that her parents would worry. So, she hurried home without putting herself in danger.
On her way home, she received a call from Gael. She had been talking a lot with him and, to be honest, the young man was a darling.
[Although I can’t come to your birthday this time, I have sent your present. It should arrive in a few days. My mother will get in touch with you,] he informed her over the phone.
When Diamond heard that a present was on its way, she beamed with happiness.
She didn’t expect Gael to send her anything. After all, they were just friends without any signs of dating.
In fact, Gael in her eyes was a small brother who was very busy. As for romantic feelings, there were none.
She didn’t think that Gael harbored any feelings for her as well. Otherwise, he would have hinted at her all this time.
Anyway, she was happy about the news. As for meeting Aunt Grace, she would face the enthusiastic woman when the time came.
When Diamond’s car drove into the complex, it was around 9 pm going towards 10 pm.
She didn’t know if they would be awake by now, or sleeping. She would see once she got there.
Diamond parked the car in the garage, picked up her things from the car, alighted, and locked the car.
Once that was done, she carried her bag and made her way into the house.
"Sis is here!"
"Diamond!"
And what welcomed her were the familiar noisy voices that she had been hearing over the phone.
How come these girls weren’t sleeping yet?
She cried out in her head as she saw the cannonballs flying towards her.
Seeing them so enthusiastic like that, Diamond could only plaster a smile on her face as she opened her arms for the girls.
How could she act cruel and as if she wasn’t happy to see them when she knew how happy she was?
"You are here!" she exclaimed with a twinkle in her eyes as the twins entered her embrace. fr\eewe.bn(o)v\el.c(o)m
Feeling the two soft bodies in her arms, all the fatigue vanished.
Beautiful people who smell nice with good bodies were the panacea to tiredness.
"Um. Did you miss us?"
"Hehe, are you happy to see us?"
Diamond rubbed the twins’ heads roughly, making them groan dissatisfiedly, pulling away from her complaining.
Diamond laughed heartily at hearing the girls’ complaints like that.
Seeing them, she couldn’t help but feel that the house was going to be nosy until they were gone.
Looking at them as she walked further into the house, with the twins following her, she asked curiously, "Don’t you have school?"
From the second they arrived at the villa, she had been smiling and laughing all the time.
Such kids. Who couldn’t love them?
"Hehe, we love you Aunty and Uncle!" the girls said shyly, making hearts on top of their heads as if expressing in words wasn’t enough.
Seeing how carefree the twins were when facing her parents, Diamond was at ease. She didn’t want anyone in her house to feel discomfort.
With the introductions out of the way, Diamond began to share with her family about what she was up to. At least, late into the night.
When everyone heard that the venue was all ready and everything was going according to plan, they all felt relieved.
It would be a mess if things went awry at the last minute.
It was late already, so once the parents saw that everyone was at home, they excused themselves and retired for the night.
With the elders going to bed, only the youngsters excluding Garnet remained behind.
Seeing her parents gone, Ruby felt that it was the right moment to ask Diamond the question that had been bothering her for hours.
She didn’t think that she would sleep without getting the answers that she needed.
She just hoped that her sister would have the answers she needed.
She had always been good at explaining and making things clear.
She trusted her completely on that matter.
