[Ding! Do you want to sign in?]
The familiar notification sounded as Diamond rummaged through her closet to look for a formal outfit to wear for the appointment, she has with the Chairwoman of Pace Sportswear brand. free we\bnove(l).com
’Sign in!’ feeling a bit tired, she hurriedly responded, without even having thoughts of teasing the system.
[Ding! You have been rewarded with a stew recipe book.]
When she heard that, her brows corked with surprise. She wasn’t expecting to receive another food-related reward anytime soon.
So, she was truly surprised, and once that was gone, happiness was all over her face.
It was as if the system and the deity who loved her so much were urging her to open that restaurant, she had registered but didn’t open.
Diamond didn’t bother to check the recipes yet, since there was still much for her to do.
Since her appointment was official and more formal, she needed to look the part. However, she didn’t want to look rigid, as that was never her style.
After rummaging through her closet, she ended up picking a nice black pencil skirt and a bowtie white blouse.
She paired this simple formal wear with a pair of good heels. It’s been ages since she wore heels, and now she was feeling like it.
It was more so after getting a report from Andrea about who she was meeting. Although she didn’t want to be serious, she didn’t want to lose out when facing another woman as well. Especially one who was successful and didn’t require the help of a system.
She dolled herself a bit and once all that was done; she picked the car keys for the Angel XI. It’s been a while since she drove this baby of hers.
With everything dealt with, she left her bedroom and headed downstairs for breakfast.
Since she had an appointment at ten, Diamond didn’t plan to leave the house early like she does on other occasions. This meant that by the time she was seated at the dining table, it was just her alone with everyone gone.
Her parents went to work while Auntie Grace was meeting with her friends and Garnet was busy with the cafes. As for Ruby, she was at school. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to come this weekend.
She heard that the assignments were too much and she would need to have group meetings or so with her classmates.
Diamond ate her food unhurriedly as she listened to Andrea’s report regarding the mess which happened yesterday when she and the boys visited the café.
If she had known that the impact would be that crazy, she wouldn’t have gone there at all. Unfortunately, it was already too late by the time she realized what was happening.
It was yesterday that Diamond finally realized how popular she was. Not only her, but Wyatt as well. His other friends weren’t that popular, but they still held a certain momentum, unlike other people.
However, just because she had never been there didn’t mean that she would act like a fool. With her filial and ever-efficient son, Andrea, there was nothing difficult for her at all.
So, all those who saw her, simply saw a confident career woman walking and couldn’t help but take a few sneak peeks.
However, there were a few others who squinted their eyes at her, wondering why that silhouette looked familiar. Unfortunately, the answer failed to come, and Diamond was nowhere to be found.
Diamond took the lift from the ground floor and pressed the button for the top floor where the restaurant she was going to was.
Inside the elevator, she wasn’t alone, but there were other people with her. They were all dressed beautifully and formally. One could tell that they were here for business and she couldn’t help but applaud them for their professionalism.
She couldn’t help but remember the years she worked tirelessly like a slave. Working from 7 to 6 every single day without rest. If she had continued to work in that place, she might have been diagnosed with an extra illness and perhaps died of exhaustion.
Because she didn’t want to lose her job, she was more of a yes-sir person. Whatever her superiors gave her, she would do it even if it meant working overtime.
She barely took care of herself. Maybe that’s why she ended up having that rash. And thanks to that rash, no matter how unfair everyone was at work, she could only swallow her grievances, since being outspoken about them would mean getting fired.
If she had gotten fired, what would she have done?
