Voxfort City
"Home sweet home!" a young man exhaled a deep breath, a smile on his face as he looked at the city he hadn’t been in a very long time.
Wearing a pair of black jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of glasses, he looked very youthful and like a model. He attracted quite a lot of attention, which didn’t seem to faze him at all.
"Oh, thank you for believing,
For every tear and every dream."
As he stood there, his phone started ringing, and a familiar song sounded.
A smile blossomed on his face as he fished for his phone. On the screen saver, a familiar smiling face graced the screen and the young man’s face brightened even further.
When he saw the caller ID ’Mom’ on the screen, his smile widened.
He tapped his earbud to answer and started walking towards the terminal gate.
"Mom!"
[Son, where are you? Your plane has landed already, or you didn’t get on it before?] his mother’s nagging voice greeted him.
He didn’t feel bothered, but smiled helplessly at hearing that. His mother was quite naggy but always has his wellbeing at heart.
"Mom, I will be out in a few. Just wait for me!"
[Fine. You better hurry up!] she said urgingly before hanging up.
The young man shook his head helplessly as he pulled the trolley with his bags, anticipation in his eyes, and couldn’t wait to see his beloved mother.
Minutes later, he was out and his eyes started darting all over in search of his beautiful mother. While doing so, he heard the familiar voice calling his name.
"Gael, over here!"
Gael turned his head in the direction where the voice was coming from and upon seeing his mother, his eyes welled with tears.
’My beautiful mama!’ he couldn’t help but be in awe.
As a man, though, he quickly calmed his emotions. He didn’t want to scare his mother or his eldest sister, who came to pick him up.
He showed his teeth as he plastered a smile and waved at them. "Mom! Sis!" his baritone voice catching a lot of people off guard.
He walked towards them while they moved closer to him as well. The three of them met midway and Gael was drowned in hugs and smooches, which left him full of embarrassment, but the smile on his face offset that emotion.

"Lil’ brother, you look fine as heck!" his sister, Candice, couldn’t help but tease him.
Gael’s face flushed when he heard that. He rolled his eyes playfully at Candice, who simply laughed heartily at that reaction.
After welcoming Gael, the three of them cheerfully left the airport and went to the parking lot where the cars were ready to go.
The bodyguards took all the suitcases into the car while the family of three boarded the car with ease.
Inside the car, Gael was on the spot as his mother and sister were bombarding him with questions.
"How is work that side?"
"Any interesting things happening there?"
"Any new friends? What did you bring us?"
Gael could only face palm wondering inwardly just how energetic these two were, but still he answered sincerely since he knew that they cared and were concerned about him.
After a while, Gael suddenly shivered when he saw his mother’s sly smile the moment, he looked at her.
’What tricks is she coming up with this time?’ he shuddered at the thought of being played by her.
However, he was spot on the moment his mother opened her mouth and asked, "Son, how is the progress between you and Diamond? She is now single. If you let some guy, take that number one spot, I will beat the crap out of you!"
In other words, everyone was busy, and he understood that.
When they got home, the servants were very welcoming, and the suitcases were taken inside and Candice was eyeing them greedily.
Her thoughts were written on her face, it made Gael speechless and found the whole situation funny.
Nonetheless, to satisfy his sister, he didn’t hurriedly go to his room to rest but opened one suitcase with several wrapped packages and said, "I have your presents wrapped. You pick one with your name on it and leave the rest to others!"
Candice was happy to hear that. She started rummaging through the suitcase. While she was doing so, she looked at the remaining suitcases and narrowed her eyes as she asked, "What about those suitcases? What do you have in there?"
Candice was curious about the contents. After all, her brother brought home five suitcases as a man with one carrying the family’s presents. So, what about the rest?
Even Grace was curious as well. She looked at her son, demanding answers.
Gael knew that he couldn’t run away from these two women. He could only bite the bullet and confess.
"That one has presents for the ancestral house, another one is for Diamond and the other two are for me."
After saying that, he left speedily the living room and laughter of three two escorted him, which made him feel flustered and a bit hot.
"Isn’t he cute when he is shy like this?"
"Mom, come on! Don’t tease him!"
"Haha, he is truly funny. Anyway, I am relieved that he prepared. He can’t go empty-handed there. Diamond is truly .... One of a kind," Grace couldn’t help but say with a smile as she recalled the kind of life Diamond and her family were living.
When Candice heard that, her curiosity was piqued. She couldn’t help but bugger her mother to share some tidbits about Diamond.
Grace was willing to show off and leave everyone with a good impression of Diamond and didn’t mind sharing.
While they were doing that, upstairs in Gael’s room, he was shyly making a call, and after a few rings, the call was answered. And a familiar melodious voice that always scratches his heart all the time rang in his ears.
[Hie dear!] and he was a goner.
