Sorry for Your Loss, It's Me, I'm the Loss novel Chapter 497

Mr. Walker still remembered the first time he saw April. She was wearing a long black dress, her small face so pale it was almost bloodless. She looked so tragically beautiful, both pitiful and lovely.

Mr. Walker was smitten at first sight.

Later, he used his connections with his old classmate and his official position to frequently appear in April's life.

April was at her lowest point then. Mr. Walker, mature and stable, gentle and considerate, also carried the aura of a man in power.

It didn't take long for April to fall for him.

Mr. Walker was very generous with April, buying her a house, a car, designer bags, and all sorts of jewelry. He had pampered her for over a decade.

When April first got with Mr. Walker, she wasn't even thirty. Her marriage had been short, and her husband's busy work schedule meant they hadn't had any children.

Over the dozen years she was with Mr. Walker, April had gotten pregnant three times, but each time she miscarried before the three-month mark.

April had always assumed her health was poor and had been seeing doctors for years to regulate her system.

"I'm still on medication to regulate my body. I can't get pregnant right now," April said, casting him a mock-reproachful glance. She continued, "Besides, you already have your precious daughter. It doesn't matter whether I have a child or not."

"If it's yours, I'll treasure it even more," Mr. Walker said in a placating tone, pinching her cheek.

April shifted to sit in his lap, and they playfully teased each other for a while longer.

"Has Bennett contacted you at all since the Christmas?" Mr. Walker asked suddenly, his arms still around April.

"At the last reunion, I tried to put in a good word for your precious daughter by saying a few things against his girlfriend. He gave me the cold shoulder after that and hasn't contacted me since."
