"With your permission, I will not simply manage your ledgers, I will create a network of spies to work for you, spread all over this continent. There wouldn’t be anything happening in this world without coming to your attention."
Damon grinned. Even he hadn’t thought about this. It looked like choosing her was the right decision after all. "Alright. Want to become my follower on a trial basis?"
After glancing at Varnyx again, Malia silently nodded. "I am willing to serve you, my Lord."
Damon saw that exchange and he could tell that the woman only accepted his request because of Varnyx. It was fine. He did not care. He opened his system interface and entered her details. Immediately a system prompt flashed in front of him and at the same time in front of Malia.
The whole process was finished in an instant. Damon then proceeded to open up the Blood Hall system interface and selected many things starting with the barracks and the training areas.
Aiden had supplied him with a lot of extra money and he planned to put it to good use. The bastard probably thought that the whole transaction would end up being a leash around Damon’s neck.
Aiden clearly knew the nuances in managing the Blood Hall which was probably why he even reassured him that he had no plans to meddle with the Blood Hall wars. Managing a dark faction city smack dab in the center of the light faction territory was simply a big money drain.
Even the super guilds wouldn’t be able to handle such a strain. Damon would only end up needing more and more and more gold coins in the future and when that time comes, he would have no other choice except to come to Aiden again.
He would indirectly become dependent on him and end up becoming his lackey. However, he had miscalculated many things.
Damon might not have the backing of the super guilds but what he had was knowledge of the future, something which no one else had. Besides, he never planned for the Blood Hall to be the only dark faction base in this territory.
He flipped open his messages to check for Necro God, to see if that kid had reached out to him at all. But nope. No messages whatsoever.
Well, that alliance was probably a dead end. It did not matter. Damon still had a couple more players in mind he could reach out to and provide support for starting other dark faction bases nearby.
If not then he would personally handpick someone and build them from ground up. He had the ability to do so. But that was a concern for a while later. The next Blood Hall battle was about to happen in 4 days and he needed to prepare for that first.
Damon quickly selected the many infrastructures available and each time he finalized a building, a chunk of gold disappeared from his account.
Gold bled away like water through open hands, the system confirming each deduction with a crisp chime that echoed in Damon’s ears. He sat back in the throne, watching the numbers shrink on his treasury panel.
