SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God novel Chapter 374

Chapter 374: What now?

Sylvara watched the guy leave with a complicated expression on her face.

She did not know why, but she felt a bit weird. The distance between them was growing more and more every single day. When she had met him for the very first time, she even looked down on him, but now he was at a height which she could no longer even see.

She lingered in the booth long after Damon had gone, her fingers resting lightly on the rim of her glass. The lantern light flickered across her face, catching the faint crease in her brow as she stared at the empty seat he had just vacated. For reasons she couldn’t quite name, her chest felt tight.

It was strange. She wondered if they would ever be able to spend time like this again with just the two of them. A bitter smile ghosted across her lips. She had thought herself pragmatic, level-headed, even untouchable. Yet here she was, feeling the distance widen every time he walked away.

She then opened up her system interface and replayed the 45 minute long message. A small smile appeared on her face as she listened to the mischievous voice and the idiotic laugh. She closed her eyes, tracing her finger over the spot where her neck still slightly burned every now and then, the place where he had first drunk from her.

Sylvara’s cheeks turned red as she hurriedly stood up, putting the thought away. She was not some love-struck teenager, and this was not some romcom fantasy. Besides, that man had more women around him than flies around a garbage can.

The thought made her grimace, though whether it was in irritation or embarrassment, she couldn’t quite tell. "Tch. Idiot," she muttered under her breath again and walked out of the restaurant.

She walked over directly to the inn where everyone was currently staying. Inside, the apprentices were still restless, murmuring among themselves. Some looked nervous, others excited, but most carried the same question in their eyes. What now?

When Sylvara pushed open the door, the room fell silent. Her presence seemed to freeze the air. She lowered her hood, revealing golden silver hair that shimmered faintly in the lantern light, and icy blue eyes that carried both beauty and authority.

For a long heartbeat, the apprentices simply stared. Compared to the instructors and apprentices they had known back at the academy, Sylvara was like something from a different world.

Some swallowed nervously; others sat straighter, suddenly aware of how shabby their clothes looked before her. A few of the younger boys blushed outright, realizing she was more beautiful than all the women in the academy put together.

"I will keep this brief," Sylvara said, her tone professional and clipped. "The one who recruited you is occupied with other responsibilities. From this moment forward, you report to me. I expect discipline, focus, and results."

She let the words sink in before continuing, her voice calm but clear. "For now, we do not yet have an official forge or guildhall. We have not established ourselves formally as a company. That will change soon. Until then, you will be working from Ranthor City’s local profession halls. Use their forges, their workbenches, their resources. Prove your skill and refine your craft."

She let her gaze sweep across them, each apprentice feeling as though they were being personally measured. "In a few days’ time, I will arrange for everything, a proper headquarters, equipment, and structure. In the meantime, please let me know if you need anything. Specific resources, specific equipment, blueprint, whatever. I will try my best to acquire it for you."

Sylvara bowed a little and then proceeded to gather all of their details personally.
