Chapter 7
Melanie went out to order her wedding dress.
The wedding is in a few days. She promised that she would wait for him in front of City Hall wearing a wedding dress to go together and get married at City Hall.
So, how can it be without a wedding dress?
When Melanie arrived at the Wedding Dress Shop, she asked the store manager to bring out the dress she had already ordered. However, the store manager hesitated and seemed to have some hidden difficulty to
express.
“What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with my wedding dress?”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Orwell, but your wedding dress has already been booked by someone else.”
“I didn’t pay the deposit, so how could others still make a reservation?”
“Well, you see, someone else offered a higher deposit, so…”
Melanie interrupted the store manager and asked, “Who was the person who took away my wedding dress?”
The store manager was about to respond when a sweet voice accompanied the opening of the bridal shop door, “Have you prepared my wedding dress? I want to try it on!”
Melanie looked up and saw Danica again.
In the company, Melanie and Danica were not familiar with each other, but in terms of personal feelings,
Melanie was very familiar with Danica.
Danica was surprised and widened her eyes when she saw Melanie. “Melanie, what a coincidence, are you also here to order a wedding dress?”
“Yeah.”
“Melanie, are you getting married too?”
“Yes.”
From the beginning, Melanie was just Jordan’s assistant at the Tye Group. Apart from knowing a few close friends of both of them, no one in the company knew about her relationship with Jordan.
And obviously, Jordan didn’t tell Danica about their relationship. After working in the company for so long,
Danica only thought of Melanie as Jordan’s assistant.
“What date did you get married, Melanie?”
“Number seven.”
Danica said excitedly, “We are so destined! I also got married on the seventh.”
At the same time, Danica curiously asked Melanie, “Melanie, which wedding dress did you choose?”
13.442
Melanie pointed at the hollow heart-shaped wedding dress displayed in the shop window and said, “That’s
the one.”
“What a coincidence! Not only did we get married on the same day, but we also wore the same wedding dress. Melanie, when you say that, I’m curious about who your husband is.”
Melanie tugged at her lips and simply said, “You guess.”
Danica paused for a moment upon hearing the words, thinking about something, but quickly changed the
subject.
Because Melanie was the one who booked the wedding dress first, even though Danica paid a higher deposit, the store manager had no reason to give Danica
the dress that was already reserved for Melanie.
So the store manager returned the deposit to Danica, and Melanie successfully got the wedding dress.
When Danica was about to leave, shad
was still furious, “What a lousy store! I swear, in the future, I will make
sure my husband shuts down this lousy store!”
After Danica left, Melanie also took the packed wedding dress and went back.
In the apartment, Jordan was sitting on the living room sofa, waiting for her.
Jordan didn’t notice the wedding dress in her hand, her eyebrows furrowed and she said, “Why are you only
coming back now?”
“Oh, something got delayed.”
Jordan didn’t delve into where Melanie had gone. He paused, suppressing his anger, and asked, “The partners have been urging for the bidding documents. When exactly will you have the bidding documents ready?”
His tone of speech carried a hint of accusation and anger, as if Melanie had made a huge mistake.
Melanie didn’t want to argue with Jordan, so she said, “I was on vacation.”
“So what? Can’t I work while on vacation? This tender document is crucial for the future development of the Tye Group, do you know how important it is for me and the Tye Group?” Jordan said, slamming the table in
anger.
Melanie stared at the annoyed Jordan, feeling that he was very strange.
The tender document is important to the Tye Group and its certainty, but it is not important to oneself,
especially since she is no longer an employee of the Tye Group.
Even though she was an employee of the Tye Group, does that mean no one else could do it?
Melanie just stared silently at the angry Jordan, not saying a word.
Even if she didn’t say a word, she still managed to make Jordan feel uneasy.
