I Was the Stepping Stone novel Chapter 73

Chapter 4

Katherine hurriedly arrived at the government office and cancelled her household registration and identity

card.

She had just finished her work when she received a short video from Sarah.

Katherine opened it and saw Sarah walking into the spacious and bright walk-in closet, showing her rows of high-end dresses, with a teasing smile. “Ms. Duncan, it seems like our tastes are really similar. The few dresses that you liked before but were out of stock are all here with me.”

“Which one do you want? Shall I have someone deliver it to you?”

“After all, Andrew just bought me 20 dresses today, and the wardrobe couldn’t fit them all.”

She did not reply and walked into the mall across the street, heading straight to the gold counter. She said to the cashier, “I want all the items in your store, pack them for me.”

The female shop assistant was dumbfounded and stammered, “Mrs. Thompson, these gold jewelry are worth

millions. Would you like to try them on first?”

“No need, use the card.”

She swiped Andrew’s card and quickly scanned ten gold counters, when Andrew’s phone rang.

Katherine’s fingers flew over the phone as she edited the divorce agreement, ignoring the ringing phone.

She came back home after buying things and unexpectedly saw Andrew pacing in the living room, sweating

profusely.

Seeing her, the man hurriedly approached with a nervous expression. “Katherine, why didn’t you answer my calls and sold all the jewelry I gave you?”

“Did you get mad at me because you met Sarah at the dress shop today?”

“I just got tired of those jewelry,” Katherine said indifferently. “Gold accessories are better. They can

withstand the test and never fade.”

A trace of unease crossed Andrew’s mind, causing him to furrow his brow.

He had told everyone to keep Sarah’s pregnancy a secret, so no one dared to reveal it to her.

Seeing him silent, Katherine sneered, “What’s the matter? Are you feeling sorry after I used your card to buy twenty million worth of gold jewelry?”

“Of course not!” Andrew instinctively retorted, leaning down to kiss her lips, igniting her all over. “You are my wife. You can buy whatever you want.”

“However, you were not allowed to not answer my calls in the future, you know? I was very worried about you.”

The rose scent that stained the man’s white shirt made her feel nauseous.

Katherine pushed him away, her voice coldly saying, “I was tired, I wanted to take a nap.”
