Sebastian sighed in relief.
The Holy King had come close to hitting him two times.
Luckily, he hadn't known about the properties of the Yin-Lightning. Otherwise, this could have gone the other way.
Or Sebastian would have still won. Nobody knew.
"The duels are over," the Duchess of Twilight said. "The promises have been kept and fulfilled."
BANG!
Red lightning gathered around Sebastian, putting him at 100% of his capacity again before he charged forward with all of his speed.
BANG!
Kyle also exploded forward.
Emperor Winterfire's eyes widened in horror.
Kyle appeared two kilometers behind him, while Sebastian stopped two kilometers in front of him.
Emperor Winterfire's mind was entering a panic.
Just a couple of minutes ago, the Winterfire Empire had been the ruler of the world, excluding the Duchess of Twilight.
But now, he was the only Transcendent left of the Winterfire Empire.
There was an 80% chance that he could kill Sebastian in a battle. ππΏπ²ππ πππ»πΌπ―ππ.ππΌπΊ
Emperor Winterfire looked at Kyle.
But if both of them worked togetherβ¦
It would look bad.
"How the turns have tabled," Kyle said with a smirk.
"Fuck you, Kyle!" Sebastian said as he sputtered in laughter, not expecting the switch of the classic phrase. "I was trying to be serious here!"
Kyle just laughed back as Emperor Winterfire narrowed his eyes.
"What do you want?" he asked.
Obviously, if the two of them wanted him dead, he would already be dead.
The fact that they kept him alive meant that they wanted something from him.
"Another promise," Sebastian said.
"A promise?" Emperor Winterfire asked with a dark tone.
"Yep," Kyle said from behind him.
"What promise?" he asked.
"Simple," Kyle said. "You are not going to attack me, unless I attack you."
Emperor Winterfire looked at Kyle. "Is this some kind of trick?"
"Nope," Kyle said. "Why don't you word the promise if you believe it's a trick?"
Emperor Winterfire became silent for a while.
"Fine," he said. "As long as you do not show any obvious ill-will towards me or my Empire, and as long as you do not attack or threaten me in any way, I will not attack you or manipulate circumstances that would lead to your death."
"Almost perfect," Kyle said. "It's just that the part about threatening you in any way sounds a bit too ambiguous."
"Threaten me, as in, try to use your power to manipulate me or use this promise to cause damage towards me or my Empire," Emperor Winterfire said.
"Sure, that sounds good enough. Turn that into a Karmic Promise, and we promise not to gang up on you," Sebastian said.
Emperor Winterfire knew that this was essentially an empty promise from their side.
They were not Transcendents.
They could break whatever promises they wanted.
This was not a negotiation nor a trade.
This was capitulation.
Emperor Winterfire made a Karmic Promise, and Kyle smiled.
"Thank you for volunteering to increase my Momentum," he said.
Emperor Winterfire's brows furrowed, but he didn't say anything.
"No worries," Sebastian said. "I won't attack you. You're going to be Kyle's opponent."
Emperor Winterfire looked at Kyle.
How could Kyle possibly become his opponent?
