After looking at the Colossus for a bit, Kyle went back to the Twilight Duchy and met up with Sebastian.
"Guess who's back?" Kyle asked with a grin.
"King Skysand?" Sebastian asked in confusion.
"Wrong! It's me!" Kyle said.
"Oooohh, it's you," Sebastian said with wonder. "Riiiight, why didn't I think of that? Man, now that you explain it, it almost feels obvious."
Kyle rolled his eyes. "Anyway, I'm done. Your wait is over."
Sebastian's eyes widened, but he didn't immediately answer.
"Please tell me this isn't a joke," he said.
"Not a joke!" Kyle said with a grin. "I'm actually done!"
Sebastian released a breath and let himself fall onto his back.
"Fucking finally!" he groaned. "It felt like foreeeever."
"Oh, come on. Waiting isn't that bad," Kyle said.
Sebastian snorted. "How would you feel if you had to kill 30 years or so without making much progress in anything?"
Kyle thought back to the time he wanted to take a break.
He had only done that for an afternoon.
30 years?
"Yeah, okay, maybe it's a bit bad," Kyle said.
"Anyway," Sebastian said, standing up again. "What's next?"
"Talking to the Duchess," Kyle said. "I wanna know how things will go down. I mean, there's no point in staying in the Third Realm, right?"
"Sounds good," Sebastian said with an excited smile. "I'm going to get my things in order."
Kyle just nodded before flying to the Duchess of Twilight's place.
He strode through the gates and looked at the Duchess with a smile. "I'm done! I'm ready to become the Overseer!" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The Duchess of Twilight looked at Kyle for a moment.
While her expression seemed just as neutral as always, deep inside, she was shocked.
Not because of Kyle's power but because of the fact that her eternal duty as Overseer would soon be over.
Finally, after so many millennia.
She could finally advance again.
After a while, she nodded. "How powerful are you?"
In a way, she almost saw Kyle as a student.
She had been invested in his power for quite a while, and she had taught him some things.
"Level Four Transcending Beasts are not an issue," Kyle said. "I tested a couple of them, and I'm confident that I can kill all of them with relative ease. Speaking of, do we even have Level Five Transcending Beasts?"
"Not right now," the Duchess answered. "Level Five Transcending Beasts already know enough Fragments to condense the Law of Body. They simply need one more fight to condense it, and whoever condenses it first kills the other one and advances."
"If you want to fight a Level Five Transcending Beast, you probably need to wait a couple of decades until a new one emerges."
"Yeah, no," Kyle answered. "I've waited long enough."
"You would only get a bigger bonus if you were to comprehend a Complex Law that's more powerful than your current Complex Law."
Kyle blinked a couple of times.
"Yeah, no," he said. "Not going to happen."
The Duchess of Twilight just nodded.
"When will you advance?" she asked.
"I can go whenever," Kyle said. "I also want to get this behind me."
The Duchess of Twilight looked out of the window.
Now that she was so close to leaving, she felt melancholic.
This world had been her home for millennia, and now, she could finally leave.
Yet, it also felt a bit difficult for her to say goodbye to her "prison".
"Give me a day," she said.
Kyle nodded. "Sure."
"Then, tomorrow."
The Duchess of Twilight nodded.
"Tomorrow," she confirmed.
