"What about Aeliana?"
Vyriana questioned, and Nux froze.
"…I’ll talk to her first."
He replied after a short pause.
"What if she says no?"
Vyriana, however, didn’t let it go.
She could sense Nux’s chaotic emotions.
"…"
Nux didn’t answer, his body, however, continued to tremble. He couldn’t antagonize the Seer right now because that woman held power over his and his wives’ lives.
But…
What if Aeliana wanted the strange woman to stay away from her father?
What would he do then?
What would he do when he would need to choose between Aeliana and his wives?
"I’ll go talk to her."
Nux answered.
"Nux, you didn’t answer m-"
Before Vyriana could say anything, Nux disappeared.
The Dragon, sensing his emotions, panicked a little. The last thing she wanted right now was for her friend’s heart to break into pieces. The Vampire had barely started smiling now. If Nux did what she thought he was going to do, she would go back to how she was before.
No, maybe this time, it would be even worse.
’No.’
Vyriana shook her head and decided to follow Nux, but before she could, Felberta appeared next to her and grabbed her hand.
The Dragon turned towards the Eldraeth Progenitor and narrowed her eyes.
"Unhand me."
"You know he will do the right thing."
Felberta answered.
"I said unhand me."
"I cannot."
Vyriana stared at Felberta, the Eldraeth, however, wasn’t intimidated.
"You know what he is going to do. You sensed his emotions too. It will break Aeliana’s heart."
"He won’t do it. He is incapable of breaking his wives’ hearts."
"That’s the problem, Aeliana still isn’t one of us yet!"
Vyriana snapped, forcefully freeing herself.
She tried to leave, Shadow, however, restricted her from doing so.
"Yo-"
"Aeliana IS one of us."
Felberta answered.
"Nux doesn’t think that way, and you sensed it too!"
"Trust me, I would know."
Felberta answered calmly.
"He will not do anything that would break her heart."
"What makes you so sure…?"
The Dragon questioned as she narrowed her eyes, and at that question, Felberta just smiled.
"Well, I am the first for a reason."
Then, the Eldraeth Progenitor pointed at the screen that shared Nux’s vision with them.
He was already standing in front of Aeliana.
"Aeliana…"
He called out, his voice much lower than usual.
"Nux? What’s wrong?"
Aeliana, sensing something wrong with him, quickly rushed towards him with a worried look on her face.
"How did you know?"
Amaya couldn’t hold back.
She was supposed to know Nux the most. Even the Seer said so. Then how did… Felberta know what she didn’t…?
Just like Vyriana, she could clearly sense Nux’s emotions, and it told her what decision he was going to make. How did that decision change so quickly? And how did she predict it?
At her question, Felberta just smiled gently and,
"You may know about him, his mind, and his emotions more than I do because of all your craziness."
The Eldraeth then pointed at her chest and,
"His heart, however, is all mine. I understand his heart better than he does.
After all, I was the first to settle in there."
Felberta chuckled, and Amaya’s mouth twitched.
Why did it feel like this woman was teasing her, but at the same time, she wasn’t?
What’s with this air of supremacy around her that she couldn’t seem to hide?
"I change my words. If I had the ability to go back in the past, I would have met Nux before you."
Amaya declared as she pointed at Felberta. The Eldraeth, however, just chuckled.
"Sure, that might give you a fighting chance.
Because you don’t have any now."
…
"Come with me."
While the women were having a discussion of their own, Nux spoke up.
He had finally made a decision.
A decision he didn’t know the consequence of.
"Where are we going?"
Aeliana questioned.
"To Umbrasol."
