Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1167

Nicholas could tell his words weren't convincing, so he tried again. “If you’re still upset, I can make it up to her. Name any amount, I’ll pay. I just hope, for the sake of our families, you’ll let this go. Please?”

Aaron was standing by, barely able to hide his contempt. These two really were something else, he thought. Shameless, clueless. ‘Isn’t Camila Davis fine now?’ Unbelievable. If Ms. Davis hadn’t been quick-witted enough to stall the Red Spider crew until help arrived, anyone else would’ve been dead by now. And yet, here was this old man acting like nothing happened. The nerve.

Dennis’s eyes turned cold. He didn’t want to hear another word.

He looked at Aaron. “Keep a close watch on this. I don’t want any more trouble.”

It was clear he wanted Nicholas and Cynthia completely out of the picture.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Williams. I’ll take care of it,” Aaron said right away.

With that, Dennis took Camila’s hand and left without looking back.

Cynthia stared after him in disbelief. “Dennis! Dennis, don’t go! You can’t just leave!” She would’ve chased after him if the police hadn’t been holding her back.

Once Dennis and Camila were out of sight, Aaron spoke up, his tone icy. “You can stop screaming now. Nobody’s coming for you, no matter how hard you yell.”

Nicholas felt humiliated. He had already swallowed his pride, begged Dennis for mercy, and still got ignored. Furious, he shouted, “Dennis Williams, do you really have to be this heartless? No matter what, I’m still your elder! Come back here!”

Aaron rubbed his ringing ears and shot Nicholas a look. “Mr. Lee, do you even remember how to be humble? If you’re going to beg, at least act like you mean it. Who are you trying to impress with that attitude? You ordered a hit and committed financial crimes. That’s illegal, you know. You think you can just buy your way out of this? Mr. Williams doesn’t need your money.”

He paused, his voice even sharper. “Let me make one thing clear. To Mr. Williams, Ms. Davis’s safety is worth more than the entire Lee Group. You crossed the line from the start. Get it?”

After that, Aaron didn’t bother saying anything else. Some people were past saving, and talking to them was a waste of breath. He turned to the lawyer. “Handle this quickly and thoroughly.”
