Chapter 21
She still remembered vividly–that day, he bowed deeply at her parents, promising sincerely, “I’ll be the luckiest man on Earth if I get to be with Josephine. I swear I’ll love her for the rest of my life. If I ever betray her or let her down, I’ll lose all I hold dear and never be able to stand up again.”
She smiled bitterly.
After scattering the torn pieces, she went downstairs with her suitcase.
Shane had already left, leaving Helena and Wilfred in the hall.
Leaning against Wilfred, Helena said sweetly, “Fred, I’ll never betray you or leave you.”
He held her hand, saying gently, “I believe you.”
Not far away from them, Zoey curled her lip when they weren’t looking. At the sight of Josephine, she immediately handed over an umbrella.
“It’s raining, Mrs. Hayden.”
Before Josephine could thank her, Wilfred mocked, “If you have any self–respect, leave everything from my family behind.”
“Stop making things difficult for her, Fred. How’s she gonna do that? I mean, everything she uses is bought with your money, right?”
Just then, Josephine let out a cold laugh.
Then, to everyone’s surprise, she smashed her suitcase at Helena crazily.
Wilfred reacted in time and shielded Helena in his arms. The suitcase ended up slamming into his shoulder before crashing to the floor, clothes scattering everywhere.
Josephine’s eyes turned utterly bloodshot, and she was almost blinded by her anger.
“You want everything back, huh? Fine! Take them!
“Have the earrings back! The necklace! The watch!”

She smashed everything into Helena and Wilfred’s faces.
“Helena, you dig trash others don’t want, don’t you? Well, have at it!”
Josephine said while taking off her top, “It’s yours!”
She kept stripping away her clothes until she was down to just her bra.
Panicking, Wilfred shouted at Zoey, “What are you waiting for? Stop her!”
Did Josephine lose her mind? The servants were here! How come she wasn’t ashamed of herself at all?
Josephine snapped, “Even if I walk out of here naked, I’ve got nothing to be ashamed of. Unlike you, you two shameless hypocrites, you claim yourselves as siblings, but you both know what’s really going on in your minds. You’re the despicable ones here…”
Zoey picked up a beige embroidered dress from the suitcase and frantically tried to drape it over Josephine.
Josephine yanked it away with great force, but then she realized it was the dress her mother had sewn for her.
She calmed down right away, panting while letting Zoey put clothes on her.
Her eyes were brimming with tears. She looked up, trying her best to hold back her tears. “I’ll remember today.”
As she walked out, she turned around, her eyes terrifyingly bloodshot. “Don’t die. Wait for my comeback.”
Josephine wandered on the streets, completely in a daze.
As she looked up at the sky, the pouring rain blurred her vision.
Water streamed down her cheeks, and she couldn’t even tell if it was her tears or the rain.
A matte–gray Panamera pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing Helena’s disgusting face.
“Gee, your car’s such a piece of junk. I’ll tell Fred to dump it at the junkyard
“And, just to be clear–I want no one’s hand–me–downs. What’s rightfully mine stays mine. I’ll never be interested in anything else.” Helena’s face twisted into a broken smile as she

reversed the car ten meters before slamming the gas.
It was too late when Josephine realized what she was doing.
The tires plowed through a puddle on the ground, sending muddy water spraying several meters high. It drenched her dress and hair, leaving her a complete mess.
Helena laughed wildly, her laughter shrill. “How I wish you had a mirror now, Josephine. You’re so pathetic.”
“Helena!” Josephine gritted her teeth while screaming, the sadness and anger in her voice overpowering the roaring thunder.
