Then he said, “There’s something I think you should know so that you can psych yourself

“Helena has a high fever, and it won’t break. Wilfred has just rushed her to Jovitas General Hospital.”

The IV bag was nearly empty, but Helena was still burning up.

Her friends at the R&D Center of Novo Tech wanted to help her, but were worried about hurting her pride, so they tried their best to come up with different excuses.

The eldest engineer’s face twisted in distress as he spoke, “My friend’s been grilling me about getting him a chip architect. He wants only the best. Ms. Copeland, could you do me a favor? I’m so fed up with him harassing me.

The youngest engineer said, “My teacher’s been forcing me to switch jobs, but my contract isn’t up yet. Boss, could you perhaps take my place?”

A female engineer with a round face frowned. “A headhunter’s been bombarding me with calls every day. It’s so annoying…”

Josephine knew they had swallowed their pride to get her these job opportunities.

It wouldn’t be right to waste their kindness.

But they all turned her down when she showed up at the interviews.

Meanwhile, she studied Martin’s face, trying to pick up something from his expression.

Martin didn’t even dare to look up and meet her eyes at all.

“Tricia’s grandpa entrusted you with taking care of her. And you didn’t even dare to tell me the truth?” Her tone turned stern.

Martin caved at once. “Ms. Dorsey wouldn’t let me say anything.

“Mrs. Decker has been a nightmare since the day she arrived. She demands that Ms. Dorsey get up at 4:00 a.m. and prepare her meals every day. Also, Ms. Dorsey must go shopping with her in the morning to carry her bags, serve afternoon tea for her and her rich friends, and clean the villa in the evening. Though Josephine still seemed calm, she was already seething with rage.

“Where’s Shane? How could he let Bianca do this to her?”

She gazed out the window, crossing her hands over her chest. Though she remained calm and composed, the oppression and indifference her expression carried indicated something dangerous, reminding him of an upcoming storm.

“Ms. Copeland, I know you want to make things right for Ms. Dorsey, but, please, you need to stay calm.”

Josephine curved her lips. “You don’t think I’m calm?”

“I…” Martin faltered.

Could he speak the truth? She looked like a cold–blooded murderer now!

After arriving at Jovitas General Hospital’s underground parking lot, Josephine hurried to the emergency building via the elevator.

Three days earlier, Zachery had told her that Helena was being treated in Room 3 of the Emergency Department’s VIP Area.

She strode forward. Around a corner, she bumped into Zachery, who was here for an

emergency case.
