Chapter 59
A certain executive’s wife, cheating… Could they possibly be talking about her?
If it was her, it didn’t really make sense.
She had never met the person in charge of Thalassa Group, didn’t even know his age.
Rumor had it he was already half in the grave.
Her personality wasn’t the type that old men liked, and besides, she’d rather die than get involved in a May–December romance…
It wasn’t until nearly eight o’clock that Josephine finally dragged her exhausted self home.
There was a plumber under Building 3, seemingly checking the wiring or something.
She glanced over but didn’t pay any attention.
She’d eaten too many of Finn’s cookies and didn’t want dinner tonight. As soon as she got home, she went straight to the bathroom for a shower.
With soap suds all over her body, the water and electricity suddenly went out.
Josephine pulled aside a corner of the curtain and peeked outside. All the other buildings were brightly lit.
She thought about asking the property management to deliver some water.
But she was covered in sticky foam and didn’t want to get dressed right away.
So she wrapped herself in a bathrobe, walked out to the balcony, and looked up toward Zachery’s home.
Only one light was on in his place, as if no one was home.
There were only two households in this building. If Zachery wasn’t home, she could borrow his guest bathroom
Josephine called Zachery and asked, “Are you at home?”

Zachery replied, “Not right now. What’s up?”
“My place suddenly lost water and power. I was hoping to use your guest bathroom…”
“The code is 1107. Go over now, and I’ll have the property management check your place to find out what’s wrong.”
“Thank you.”
After hanging up with Zachery, Josephine silently repeated 1107 to herself.
That set of numbers must have some special significance for Zachery.
Could it be Natalia’s mother’s birthday?
Josephine shook her head. Why was she thinking about this? It wasn’t something she should be concerned with.
She went back to her bedroom to grab a clean set of loungewear, then took the stairs to Zachery’s home.
After entering the code, the door lock clicked open.
The smart home system activated, and all the lights gradually turned on.
Josephine quickly washed up in the guest bathroom and was out in five minutes.
She put her bathrobe into a bag and cleaned up the bathroom.
She even picked up the hair that had fallen on the floor and threw it in the trash.
Just as she was about to leave, Zachery and Natalia came back.
Zachery was carrying a bag of meat and vegetables in his left hand, and seasonal fruit in his right
“Natalia wants a late–night snack. Will you join her?”
Josephine said, “No, I need to go home and check what’s going on with my water and electricity.”
Natalia tugged at the hem of Josephine’s clothes “Josie, stay, please! My dad’s steak is unforgettable once you’ve tried it.”
“Well, won’t that make me gain weight?” Josephine joked with Natalia

Natalia replied earnestly, “No, no, look at me–do I look fat?”
She spun around, her skirt swirling, like a little fairy casting a spell.
At that moment, the property manager contacted Josephine and told her there had been a minor issue with her apartment’s wiring, but it had already been fixed.
Josephine put away her phone and, looking down at Natalia’s expectant little face, said:
“Alright, then. Please ask your dad to make us some.
“Happy to oblige,” Zachery said with a smile, turning his gaze away and heading lightly toward the kitchen.
Natalia happily pulled Josephine down to sit with her on the carpet in front of the sofa.
Josephine felt a bit embarrassed–she had just showered at their place and was now waiting to eat steak, taking advantage of their hospitality twice in a row.
So she called out toward the kitchen, making a promise to the busy Zachery:
“Dr. Maynard, I know a great medicinal cuisine restaurant. I’ll treat you there sometime.‘
Zachery, rolling up his sleeves, looked over and asked, “When is ‘sometime“?”
Josephine was caught off guard and said, “You decide. Anytime is fine.”
Zachery raised his eyebrows and went to wash his hands and marinate the steak.
Natalia showed Josephine the photos she had taken today.
“We had a coach teach us horseback riding and archery today.”
“Belinda is amazing–she can do both! Josie, look, I even took a picture of her.”
Belinda had learned both riding and archery from Wilfred,
”
Wilfred doted on Belinda. Whenever she pouted and said, “Daddy, I’m tired,” Wilfred would let her stop practicing.
So whatever Belinda learned, she only ever picked up the basics.
Josephine looked at the photo, noticing Belinda’s characteristically raised chin, and asked
