Chapter 161
Chapter 161
Aria’s POV
The whole square went dead silent.
For a moment, it was like everyone had forgotten how to breathe..
And I was no exception. I heard what Torvi said, but my mind just couldn’t process.
What did she just say?
I was Lady Quentina’s daughter?
That… that just couldn’t be true.
“Fucking ridiculous!” Alpha Vladimir bellowed. He stood up sharply and waved his hand. “That’s the most absurd excuse I’ve ever heard for interrupting an execution. Guards, throw them out now!”
Torvi straightened her back and bared her teeth, her wolf surfacing. “You want to fight? Fine! Let’s fight and see if Frostpine Pack’s afraid of you!”
The soldiers behind her howled as one. Their roars shook the air. Frostpine Pack was known for its fierce warriors–there weren’t many of them here, but their presence alone was enough to make others flinch.
“G–General Torvi, are you serious about that?” Alpha Jeremy from the House of East stammered, his eyes wide. “But this Aria Collins is a commoner. We all know that.”
“Yes, she’s a commoner,” Isla cut in loudly. Her face was pale, but her eyes were burning with rage. “Her father’s a filthy gambler. He probably slept with some filthy prostitutes in the whore house and gave birth to her. I mean, just look at her- she’s rude, stupid, uneducated-”
“Watch it,” Torvi growled. “You’re talking about a lady now. Someone just as noble as you–no, someone even more noble.”
“More noble?!” Isla shrieked. “No fucking way! My father is an Alpha!”
“Lady Aria’s mother is also the daughter of an Alpha,” Torvi snapped back. “And she’s qualified to inherit an Alpha title herself. Unlike you, all you got is a lady’s title and nothing else. I can’t say too much now because Lady Aria’s background is complicated, but DNA doesn’t lie. This test confirmed that Lady Aria and Lady Quentina are mother and daughter.”
She pulled out a folded document and handed it to me.
My hands trembled as I took it.
The words were clear as daylight:
Aria Collins and Quentina Avery, biological mother and daughter.
Tears blurred my eyes. But more than joy, it was disbelief. It felt like a dream too good to be real and I was terrified I might wake up any second.
“When… how…” I choked.
Torvi gently squeezed my shoulder. “The doctor went to your cell the other day took your DNA sample. I thought, at the very least, we should know who your parents were. So I ran it through our own database. And the most surprising result came out–your mother is our Lady.”
Alpha Jeremy stepped closer to peek at the document in my hand. “God…. so you really are noble,” he murmured. “Thank

god General Torvi got here in time. We almost harmed a highborn lady.”
The crowd went wild with whispers.
“Lady Aria, 1 apologize for my earlier disrespect,” Alpha Jeremy said, bowing slightly.
One by one, others began to murmur their agreement.
I didn’t know how to respond. I had never been called a lady before.
It was like everyone’s attitude had completely flipped the moment they learned who I really was. Especially the nobles who used to look down on me.
“Wait a second!” Isla shrieked. “You all just believe this? What if Quentina made this up to get Aria Collins out of trouble?”
Alpha Jeremy glanced at her coolly. “The report looks authentic to me. Unless you have evidence that it’s fake, I’m inclined to trust General Torvi.”
“He’s right,” another Alpha echoed. “We all know Frostpine people don’t lie. No offense, Lady Isla, but now their word carries more weight than yours.”
Isla’s face turned ashen. “You cowards! Have you forgotten what you said in court? You said she was a disrespectful little. bitch. And now you’re pretending none of that ever happened?”
Some Alphas looked embarrassed. Then, Damian chuckled from the corner and stood up.
“It’s true Aria Collins isn’t like most noble ladies,” he said smoothly, “But I’ve always thought there was something special about her.”
He walked up to me, took my hand, and planted a soft kiss on the back of my hand.
“My dear Lady Aria, will you forgive my past ignorance and allow me to apologize properly?”
He looked up at me, his blue eyes glinting mischievously. Those eyes looked just like Zane’s.
I frowned. I never knew what this man was thinking. Sometimes he was against me, and sometimes he helped me.
But if he was against Isla right now, then he was my ally.
“I forgive you, Alpha Damian,” I said quietly. From the corner of my eye, I saw Isla’s face twist with rage, and that alone felt so goddamn satisfying.
A deliberate cough broke through the noise. Everyone turned to see Alpha Vladimir rise to his feet.
“Even if Aria Collins‘ identity is questionable, her crimes are not,” he said coldly. “She still should be punished.”
“What crimes?” Torvi shot back immediately. “She was sentenced because she was thought to be a commoner. Now that she’s proven to be a noble, none of this applies anymore. Even if she slapped Isla right here in front of us, she wouldn’t have to answer for it.”
I bit back a laugh, my lips twitching. Damian didn’t bother hiding his amusement. He laughed out loud. “Very well said, General Torvi.”
Alpha Vladimir’s face darkened with anger. “Watch your tone, General. Are you saying she can call my dear daughter a murderer without any consequence?”
“Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying,” Torvi said without hesitation. Her courage was incredible. Most people would tremble before Alpha Vladimir. “The thing is, your daughter has spread more lies and filth about Aria than I can count. Every dirty rumor about Aria probably started with Isla. If we’re talking about punishment, it’s Isla who should be punished.”

“Are you crazy?” Isla yelled. “I’m a noble born with Alpha blood. No one can punish me
“So is Aria,” Damian cut in coolly. “Alpha Vladimir, I suggest you drop this right now. Nothing good will happen if you keep arguing about this.”
Alpha Vladimir’s eyes flashed with venom. He stared at me like a snake ready to strike. My skin crawled, but I forced myself to meet his gaze.
After a long silence, he finally said, “Fine. If that’s what you all want.”
“Father!” Isla gasped in disbelief.
“You heard them, Isla,” Alpha Vladimir said with a fake smile, though there’s no smile in his eyes. “If we keep pushing this. you might be the one apologizing to Lady Aria. So let’s end it here.”
Torvi sneered. “Good choice. And we’ll find a chance for your daughter to apologize to our lady for what she did. But for now, if you’ll excuse us, we have more important things to do. Come on, Lady Aria.”
She placed an arm protectively around me and led me down the steps. The Frostpine soldiers surrounded us, keeping everyone else at a distance.
The crowd parted before us. Their eyes followed me, shocked, awed, almost worshipful.
It was like they were looking at a miracle.
