Ten Days to Leave My Stepbrother (Beatrice) novel Chapter 12

**TITLE: Across Quiet Meadows Rise Dreams Waiting For Their Moment**

**Chapter 12**

Even though her stay was only meant to last a month, the room prepared for Beatrice by the Sterling family was nothing short of breathtaking. Its spacious layout, the way the sunlight streamed through the large windows, and the carefully chosen furnishings left her utterly astonished. She stood there for a moment, grappling with the idea that perhaps she had stumbled into a luxurious hotel rather than a temporary residence.

For a fleeting second, Beatrice found herself questioning whether she was here simply to seek shelter or if she was inadvertently conducting a thorough inspection of her surroundings. The room felt like a little sanctuary, a place where dreams could take root and flourish.

Lilith, stepping into the room for the first time herself, was equally impressed. Her gaze swept over the carefully arranged items, and when she noticed that even cosmetics had been thoughtfully included, a rare smile crept onto her lips. “I must say, I didn’t expect Greyson to be this attentive,” she remarked, her voice tinged with surprise. “He usually keeps to himself. Bex, is there anything else you need?”

Beatrice quickly shook her head, her eyes sparkling with a mix of astonishment and joy. The warmth of the room seemed to seep into her very being, making her feel welcomed and cherished.

As Lilith observed Beatrice’s face, she couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance to Celia. The sweet expression that graced her features stirred something tender within Lilith, compelling her to reach out and pinch Beatrice’s cheek affectionately. Just as she lifted her hand, however, Greyson, who had just entered, caught sight of her and gently pressed her hand back down onto the suitcase.

“Mom, not now,” he said, a hint of exasperation in his tone.

Lilith’s playful plan was thwarted, and she pouted, casting a suspicious glance at her son. “Did you really take your medication today? You seem even more meddlesome than usual!”

Greyson raised an eyebrow at his mother, who often approached life with a light-heartedness that made serious matters feel trivial. He then turned to Beatrice, noticing her wide-eyed amazement. “I checked the weather for you,” he said, his voice steady and polite. “London tends to be cooler in the mornings and evenings compared to here. I’m guessing you packed mostly summer clothes, but there are jackets in the closet. They’re all new and freshly washed. If it gets chilly, feel free to wear one.”

Beatrice was taken aback. The boy who had only managed a single sentence online over the past ten days was showing such thoughtfulness in person, attending to the smallest details. It made her reflect on her own hasty judgments during their flight together, and a wave of embarrassment washed over her. With a mix of gratitude and sincerity, she murmured, “Thank you, that’s really kind of you.”

As the two engaged in their polite exchange, they remained blissfully unaware of Lilith, who was watching them with an expression that could only be described as pure delight and mischief.

With a quiet giggle, she slipped out of the room, her heart racing with excitement. Once in her bedroom, she eagerly grabbed her phone and sent a WhatsApp message to her best friend, who was thousands of miles away. “Celia, it seems like our dream of becoming in-laws might actually come true!”
