"This creature is still breathing!" One of the warriors informed the other, as he kicked the body of the white bear so hard. Its white fur had turned dark in color, coated by countless blood of the fallen warriors it had killed and its own blood.
"This thing had killed so many our people before it could be taken down! Shit!" Another warrior kicked Lil Thing as well, but the big bear didn’t budge.
"I thought this silly bear could only droll and sleep."
Winter Moon pack’s warriors had not been around for long to know Lil Thing and what this silly creature was capable to do.
"Seventy six," One of the warriors growled and spat on the white bear. "It killed seventy six warriors from our pack and injured dozen of them. We are going to skin this monster alive."
"No. Alpha Nolan wanted to see it. He is interested with this creature," another warrior chimed in.
And there were more in their conversation that Leros and Clad listened to it dutifully. They kept their head low, just like the rest of the pack member of Diandem pack, who were being gathered in the pack square. They needed to squeeze their body against one another under this black rain and cold wind.
They were no longer sure, whether this was day or night. They lost track of time.
"Why there is still no reaction?" Leros asked Clad in low voice. He watched one of the warriors from the Winter Moon pack closely and knew there was no sign whatsoever. "It supposed to be seen around this time."
"Let’s wait a little bit longer, I think we didn’t time it correctly." Clad pushed Leros’s head down when one of the warriors walked past them. "Maybe they didn’t have the same reaction."
"Honestly, I am not sure if it will work. Don’t you think the alpha believed in that senile sorcerer so much?"
"I heard he is good before he turned senile."
And with that, their conversation was cut short, because they couldn’t risk to be exposed in this situation. Alpha Nolan would only keep the pack member of Diandem pack as hostage, but of course, he would do more if he figured out there was pack member of Cane.
However, Leros and Clad were not the only people, who listened to the conversation among the warriors about what they were going to do with the white bear, because under the water tunnel, behind small bars on the ground, that used as a drainage, three people listened to the same thing.
"Master, they caught Lil Thing." Sabian widened his eyes when he saw the white bear. He knew his master had given the furball to the luna and would complain about its existence all the time, but he himself had raised the creature, since it was only a size of a palm.
Nala glanced at Lou, his expression was unreadable and she didn’t dare to disturb his line of thought. Fortunately, she knew when to stop.
"Master, should we..." Sabian lost his voice when Lou gave him the coldest glare, which shut him up before he could finish his sentence. He felt like his heart went on his throat.
"How many magic stone do you have?" Lou asked coldly.
"Two. One water magic stone and the other earth magic stone."
Two was not enough to create portal and more so, earth magic stone was weaker than the other magic stones, especially when Lou’s element was fire, his magic element didn’t suit well with earth magic stone, though he still could use it, but but it was hard to reach its potential, since he was the opposite element.
"Are you going to rescue that bear?" Nala asked. She was slightly taken aback when Lou threw a sharp look at her. "With what? Exchanging the magic stones?"
"Not now, Nala. Don’t complain about this."
"I am not." Nala swallowed back her complain. The look on Lou’s expression was very terrifying, she looked for death if she was trying to piss him off right now. This was not the time for that.
"Give me those damn stones!" Lou said sharply to Sabian, who hastily handed the stones to his master.
"Master, what are you going to do? You can’t fight them all." Sabian stole a glance at Nala, who stared at Lou with a frown between her brows. She was not yet aware about the fact that Lou was a magic user too.
Sabian knew his master very well. He hated to be labeled as magic user and only a handful people, who knew about this identity of him.
There were so many layers on him that made it hard to understand this man, even after he spent years followed him.
==========================
"What is that?" Sofia was stiffened, she crept closer to her baby, which meant, she was moving right next to Iris without her realized it.
"Stay in the carriage, I will check outside," Aliana said, as she jumped out of the carriage.
"What happened out there?" Sofia couldn’t hold back her curiosity and peeked through the window, but this black rain obscured her sight and the only thing she could figure out was; there was something, or someone blocked their way. "I hope this is not a monster... or Winter Moon pack warrior."
On the other hand, Iris was extremely quiet, she held the baby tightly, but her eyes were not focus. She felt this mixed feeling that left her restless. She couldn’t even hear what Sofia was trying to say to her, her ears rang painfully and this restlessness turned into a dreadful feeling, which gradually grew stronger.
Iris was not sure what would happen or what was going on out there, but if she could, she wanted to go away from this place as soon as possible. She didn’t want to deal with whoever that was, who had stopped their carriage.
"What happened with you?" Sofia frowned when she watched how pale Iris was. She held her baby so tightly, which made her worried. "Give me back my baby." She took her baby from Iris’s arms, thankfully, she didn’t fight her for this and miraculously, Rye was no longer crying and sleeping right now.
It seemed, whatever Iris was doing to him, worked. The fever had subsided too.
"Are you, okay?" Sofia nudged Iris’s shoulder. She was still uncomfortable in speaking term with Iris, but was slightly worried about how pale her face was.
But at that time, they could hear some people called the king. It was the sound of the four merchants, but Sofia was not sure, since the sound of rain that hit the carriage roof confused it.
"The king? King Alan?" Sofia frowned, she held her baby close to her chest. "Did the royal manage to catch us?"
Sofia was well aware that Cane was working on favor of the Red Claw pack and he was not in a good term with then prince Alan, but right now, he was here? Did he bring the royal warriors with him too?
Would he kill them all if he caught them? Were they going to die?
