After Lou’s question, all of them waited for the alpha’s reply, but if they thought he would provide them with some information or even gave some response to that, they were very wrong. It was a wishful thinking in their part.
Because unless when he was with his mate, there was nothing significant that had changed from him.
With Iris, he could be his old self before the slavery, but aside from her, he would be that calculative and manipulative alpha that led his people out of the misery of alpha Gerald’s clutch.
"It doesn’t mean she has the same flow like the Serafim, right?" Grace cleared her throat and provided another logic. She knew about the lycan and the alpha, and for whatever reason, she felt there was some connection there, which was something that this merchant, turned out to be a magic user, needed not to know more detail about it.
"Hm." Lou thought about it for a while. "That could happen..." he touched his chin.
However, Lou was too lazy to think in deeper lever about this matter and he had another thing that he was excited about. His eyes lit up when he spoke again.
"The portal will not last for long, you need to go now!"
He said that almost like he was very happy to kick Cane and Grace away from this room, but he should have learned by now that the alpha could smell his cunning plan from miles away.
Cane carefully put Iris down on the bed and covered her with blanket. He caressed her cheek very gently, as he stared at her sleeping face, taking his time to savor the sight of her.
He missed her, he wished, she was awake and could hold him back, but she was asleep now.
Cane kissed her forehead, down to her nose and then her lips, every movement was so tender, as if he put his feeling on it, which made Grace and Aliana felt like they really wanted to run away from this room, while Lou was entertaining himself with the wild imagination, where he dragged Cane away from Iris and beat the shit out of him.
Of course, his imagination would only possible to happen in his mind.
Cane kissed her lips a little bit longer, which the three of them felt like they were in the wrong place and time and how awkward it was! Did the alpha not feel it?! This room was getting very warm now! They were barely able to breath!
"For heaven’s sake!" Lou finally couldn’t take it anymore, as he blew his top. "She is sleeping and in dire need to rest! Stop snacking on her!"
Aliana glared at Lou because he ruined the moment for the alpha and the luna, but Cane simply kissed Iris’s neck and caressed her flat stomach, which irritated Lou even more because that gesture looked like the alpha provoked him, reminding him that she was clearly pregnant with his child!
Cane finally stood up after he covered Iris’s body with his scent. "When the Serafim supposed to arrive?"
"If there is nothing happened, she supposed to arrive tomorrow."
Cane nodded, but he took Lou with him. "You come with me," he said without any trace of guilty when the merchant protested.
"I am not going anywhere with you! I need to rest! I am tired, I can’t stand up straight!" Lou grumbled, when Cane didn’t let go of his grip on his shoulder and took him straight to the portal, knowing he didn’t have anymore chance to escape this bad alpha, he shouted to Aliana. "Hey! Make sure the healer looks after Lil Thing!"
Meanwhile, Grace gave a few cursory of how to take care of Iris, which was not very different from what Penny said, since her power was useless for Iris, there was no use for Grace to stay. More so, the Serafim would come tomorrow, their best hope was for her to be able to know what was wrong with Iris.
After that, Grace left and the portal was closed.
Aliana sighed deeply when the room finally went quiet again. She stared at Iris and then at the small bear next to her, she picked Lil Thing up and walked out of the bedroom.
"I smelled the alpha and the healer’s scent," Zale said, he sulked after Joel reprimanded him for fighting with Lou. "Are they inside?"
"No." Aliana shook her head, she didn’t lie. Cane and Grace were no longer inside the bedroom.
"Is that Lil Thing?" Zale noticed his first companion. "What happened? Why it was so small?!" He moved closer toward Aliana and so did the rest of them. They didn’t notice it at first before Zale pointed it out.
"Lou said, it is Lil Thing’s original size," Aliana replied to their questions, as she recalled what Lou had told her briefly before.
"And you left him alone with the luna inside the bedroom?" Zephyr asked, he frowned and was about to enter the bedroom. "It’s not appropriate."
Aliana stopped him. "He is not inside, the luna is alone."
"How so? We didn’t see him going out, it’s only you, who walked out from the room." Eron couldn’t understand that. There was no second door.
"He is gone."
"You meant, he is dead?" Zale asked wishfully, But Aliana only gave him a look, like a big sister, who warned their bratty little brother. She then went to see Penny with Lil Thing, after she gave them some instruction and warned them not to bother the luna.
"I am going with you!" Zale was worried about Lil Thing, more so, the luna had a lot of people to watch over her and he would only be gone for a while.
Aliana didn’t stop him and when he stretched out his hand to hold the white bear, she gave Lil Thing to him, in which the little creature snuggled closer against his chest.
"What is this thing?" Penny had never seen this creature before. It looked like bear, but it didn’t feel like one.
"The letters have been delivered." Redmond nodded. "There is something I need to show you, but I need to meet you in the black market."
Ethan shifted into his human form and heard that request. His eyes turned very sharp. "And how do you think we can go to the black market when the location has not yet changed? The last time I checked the black market is still within alpha Gallot’s territory."
"We entered the pack before without alarming alpha Gallot. You can do the same now." If it was not because of Alan, they wouldn’t meet with alpha Gallot the last time they were in the black market.
"Are you stupid? The situation is very different now," Ethan scoffed. "What do you want to show the alpha? Why can’t you show it here?"
During that conversation, Cane didn’t say anything. He only paid close attention to Redmond and oddly enough, he didn’t even get upset when Ethan called him stupid. He was calm and collected and had his eyes focused on Cane.
"Here is the map to the black market. I have gathered enough information when I was in his pack to know this route is the safest way to get there." Redmond handed the small folded map to Cane.
"What are you going to show Cane in the black market?" Ethan frowned deeply, he felt something was off with Redmond, especially when he didn’t spare him a glance at all. "How could you survive Gallot? Have you really delivered a letter to Red Claw pack?" Ethan was frustrated when he was being ignored. "Answer me!" He grabbed Redmond shoulders and forced him to see him.
Only then, Redmond spared the gamma a look, but he spoke something weird. "They eyes can see. You are completely wrong."
Cane’s eyes dimmed. "You can leave. I will see you in the black market."
Redmond pushed Ethan away from him, but before he could walk away, he turned around asked Cane. "They are safe, yeah?"
"Yes."
And with that, Redmond left the area, leaving Ethan speechless. "Cane! You are not really going to the black market, right? Why don’t you ask about what he is going to show you?"
Cane glanced at his gamma and walked back toward their campground. "I will be the one, who is going to show them."
The crease between Ethan’s brows deepened. "I don’t understand! Explain please! Cane!"
==============================
Today was the day and everyone knew about it, despite the dark mood that lingered along the dark sky, all the pack member of the Bloody Wolf pack came to the street when they heard about the arrival of the Serafim.
