The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 675

Chapter 675: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (17)

Iris looked down to her dress and just realized, the sharp shard of the glass had cut her finger when she tried to pick the pieces. She didn’t realize it because her mind was distracted.

She felt upset a moment ago and she couldn’t explain why she felt that way, as if something bothering her greatly.

"Come here, luna. Don’t touch it again. You can’t be so reckless," Aliana said, as she helped Iris to stand up and take her to the bed, while Reed and Asher cleaned up the mess.

Iris thanked them, but they brushed it off.

"Luna, you need to be more careful next time," Reed said. "You might hurt the baby."

That was right. They worried about the baby more. "Okay." Iris nodded. She knew some of the warriors started to treat her nicely, with the respect that she deserved because of her pregnancy. Deep down, Iris knew about that, but she didn’t want to think too deeply. Still, it stung.

Zephyr gave Reed a look and the other warrior pretended like he didn’t say anything and focus on cleaning the shattered cup with Asher.

"I will call for Penny to take a look on your wound," Aliana said, after she inspected the cut. It was not too deep, if Iris had healing ability, she would have recovered by now, unfortunately, she didn’t. It would take a while for her wound to heal and Aliana didn’t want the alpha made a fuss over it when he randomly visited his mate again.

"No. There is no need," Iris said, she grabbed Aliana’s hand. Her expression looked pitiful now. "Is there any news from Cane?"

"Do you miss him already?" Aliana teased her. "No. I think he is going somewhere with Ethan and the merchant, but I am not sure where exactly they went." She didn’t know the detail of Cane’s agenda, even though the alpha wanted to know every detail of what his mate was doing all the time.

Iris looked down, she stared at her bleeding finger, deep in thought.

"Don’t worry, he will appear randomly again at some point because he missed you so much too." Aliana sat next to Iris, cheered her up. "Why don’t we take a look on Lil Thing?"

Iris shook her head. "I want to see the Serafim, can you ask her for the meeting?"

Iris had requested for a meeting with the Serafim, but her knights always refused it with the reason; the Serafim was sick and she couldn’t accept any guest.

That was right, the Serafim had been staying in her bedroom ever since she arrived, there was no further discussion about what happened between them and how Iris managed to absorb her power.

"Okay, I will go, but after Penny look after your wound." Aliana could be stubborn.

===============================

Cane kicked Aria away from him and yanked the dagger from his chest before he fell to the ground. He breathed raggedly, while Ethan took a stand in front of him.

"Hell! You are really alive!" The gamma widened his eyes when he saw Aria. She fell on her back a few steps away from them after Cane kicked her. "Damn it... what you got yourself into, Aria?"

Now everything did make sense if you involved the dark magic in it. Haco had told them, there was trace of black magic in the spot where he buried Aria’s dead body, but as it turned out, her body had long disappeared.

And now, here she was. Alive.

Alpha Gallot came forward and helped Aria to stand up, he smirked at Cane, who was trying to heal from the wound on his chest.

"Shut up, Ethan! I don’t need your opinion!" Aria roared. She looked at the gamma derisively. "Step back, or I will not hesitate to kill you too!"

"Aria..." Ethan shook his head, he was speechless. He had not yet overcome his shock to see Aria was very much alive. "You degraded yourself."

"I have degraded myself since so long ago for him, but what I get? He gave me death punishment!" Aria gritted her teeth, but her eyes filled with sadness. "He didn’t even want to see me that day. Why? Why did you abandon me?!"

Aria was having an outburst right now, her sadness and grievances turned into anger when she realized Cane only focused on healing the wound and didn’t pay attention to what she was saying at all.

"You will not recover from that wound!" Aria hissed through her gritted teeth, tears rolled down her cheeks, it pained her to hurt Cane like this, but there was no other way to make him hers, that was what Dexter told her to do.

"Aria, what have you done?" Ethan narrowed his eyes, he glanced at Cane over his shoulder, worried, but the alpha was still in the same position, he was kneeling down with his head hung low, you couldn’t see the expression on his face.

Aria’s red eyes fixed on Cane. She didn’t want to hurt him, she only wanted to be with him.

"I only want you, Cane, but you make things difficult between us." Aria bit her lips, her heart ached so bad. She wondered why she still felt this pain when she was supposed to be death, couldn’t the pain go away as well? Why she couldn’t stop loving him?

"Enough!" Cane roared, he pushed himself to stand up, as blood oozed out from the wound on his chest. "You disgust me."

The last word was said in such contempt and malice, Cane meant it when he said Aria disgusted him. The sight of her was loathsome.

Hearing that, Aria was taken aback, she clutched her chest, as tears streamed down her face. This was the most painful thing that she had ever heard. "You loved me, Cane. You do love me. If it were not for that runt, we will still be together and nothing like this will happen."

"What is that? Black magic?" Lou frowned. "I thought black magic is forbidden, but why many people used it recently? Is there a change in law?"

"Do something with the black magic!" Ethan ordered the merchant, but he threw him a dagger look, because the healer didn’t have any idea that he was a magic user. "You, get out." Ethan growled at the healer.

"Yes..." The poor healer immediately rushed out of the room, she was afraid of Ethan.

"Now, do something with the wound." Ethan nodded at Lou, who kept glaring at him.

"Just because I am a magic user, it doesn’t mean I can do as I please with the black magic!" Lou was frustrated with this gamma.

"At least, you can think of something. Don’t you know how to purify it?" With that was being said, Ethan stopped himself and blinked his eyes. There was someone, who could purify the black magic with only a single touch.

And as if Cane could read what was in Ethan’s mind, he immediately objected it. "Don’t even think about it," Cane growled. The last thing he wanted was for Iris to see him like this. It was reckless of him to let himself being stabbed.

"What is it? What did I miss?" Lou looked back and forth between Cane and Ethan, he knew the two of them were having some kind of understand with each other. "Hey! No one will tell me what is it?"

"Tell me the situation in the border and Aderan’s movement." Cane demanded something else. He looked slightly pale, but aside from that, he didn’t show any indication that he was in pain.

Hours later, Ethan was contemplated something after he delivered Cane’s medicine, which didn’t help with his condition at all. The best the healer could do was to stop the bleeding, but the wound was still there.

"Hey, tell me what is it, will you?" Lou approached Ethan, who was standing in front of Cane’s bedroom door. "There is a way to save your alpha, right? Why don’t you tell me?"

Ethan narrowed his eyes. He weighed his options. "I want you to make a portal."

"Do you think I am your private carriage or something that could take you to places? Have some respect!" Lou barked at Ethan. "I have helped you enough to create protection, so you wouldn’t be mauled by those beasts and now you order me around to create a portal? Do you really think creating a portal is an easy task? That’s require a lot of energy aside from magic stone and I am tired already."

Ethan waited until Lou spoke his pieces, he crossed his arms with boring look. "I want you to take me to Iris."

"Let’s go then."
