Once the protection was disappeared, all hell broke loose. The warriors and the Holy Knights, along with the magic users fought against the royal warriors, they were outnumbered because they lost so many warriors during their time in the border of Diandem pack.
And after two hours of a fierce battle, the warriors and the people from the Holy Kingdom were forced back due to so many magic users, who ran out of the magic stones. They were rather useless without it.
If this kept happening and they couldn’t hold back their ground, it was only a matter of time they caught up with all the pack member, who fled from the pack, while the reinforcement had not yet to be seen.
"Knights! Stand your ground!" Cedric roared, as he led all the Holy Knights and secured the escape path for the magic users, as they couldn’t be any help in this battle anymore. "Hold your ground!"
The shifters were in front of them, while they took care the beasts, who managed to go past them.
On the other hand, it was Arthur, who led the warriors, as he penetrated deep into the defense of the royal warriors with Mal in their beast form.
It came as a surprised that the two of them had a great fighting ability as good as their aptitude in spying. They killed so many warriors until they could see him.
He was sitting on the horse, at the further back of the barrage of the royal warriors. One wouldn’t be able to see him, if they didn’t manage to go as far as the two of them.
It was Kellan. The crippled prince, the former crown prince, who supposed to be not be able to walk again, let alone to be on the horseback and from the look of it, he could move his legs just fine.
Arthur and Mal didn’t believe what they were seeing. There was no way Kellan was suddenly be able to walk. They were spy after all, they knew the detail of what was going on and the last report about Kellan was; he mated with alpha Derick’s younger daughter and was pardoned as long as the alpha from the Celestial Moon pack gave up and pledged his loyalty to the new king, Alan.
After that, there was no more news about what happened to him, since he lived inside the palace, where they couldn’t get any information and had no man there.
But right now, he was alive and able to move his legs.
Arthur and Mal needed to let other people knew about it, the alpha must know about what happened, but because they went too deep, it was hard for them to trace back when the other shifters didn’t manage to come through the defense as far as them.
They were trapped in the enemy’s territory and Kellan saw them, recognized them as Cane’s people and a devilish smirk appeared on the corner of his lips, as he talked to the beast beside him.
There was no way for Arthur and Mal to be able to get out from here alive and Kellan made sure of it.
Meanwhile, miles away from where Arthur and Mal faced their predicament, the pack member of the Bloody Wolf pack, ran as far as they could, but still, their pace was not fast enough for them to be able to completely ran away from their enemy, even after so many hours Abby tried to preserve for them.
Not only because there were so many children, who were sick and had to be carried by their parents in their human form or by the knights, but also because of the terrain was very slippery, since the rain poured down relentlessly.
Zale hugged little thing in his arms, while he made sure the children followed him.
They supposed not to expose themselves under the rain, but the problem was; the carriages couldn’t go through the muddy ground and the children, who were inside had to walk, if they strong enough, while the sick ones needed to be carried.
It would put those already sick children became even more sick.
"Joel... it is painful..." Celia whimpered when she was carried by Joel in his arms, she had been very sick and the Serafim had not yet had a chance to heal her.
"It’s okay, Celia. You will be fine... hold on a little bit longer, okay? You will be fine..." Joel didn’t know what to say and he was afraid, he was going to lose her, because he could hear how her heartbeat was weakening.
"Haco..." Celia was in and out of consciousness when she asked for Haco.
"Haco with us. Haco is here." Joel slowed down and approached Haco, who was with Aliana. She had to help the old sorcerer to walk and coax him to keep moving, because he was refusing to move. This terrain was too harsh on his old body.
"Haco..." Celia stretched out her hand, wanted to hold his.
"Go... leave me here," Aliana said in small voice. She knew there was no way they would be able to fight the seven of them while trying to protect her.
However, how could they leave her behind?! There was no way they would do that to her!
This was what Jace scared for his little sister, why he was very adamant for her to not leave the pack because he knew this kind of thing could happen and it was very dangerous out there, especially if she had to follow the alpha.
"Go... you can’t save me..." Aliana said and that was very true.
The battle came so near, as they could hear the growls and snarls from those beasts, who were fighting, as the ground was shaking.
And before Zephyr and the other could decide what to do, the seven beasts had charged toward them, they barred their fangs and claws, ready to take their lives.
It wouldn’t end well, because from the corner of their eyes, they could see more and more enemies managed to go through the Holy Knights and the shifters, they made a hole in their defense and didn’t stop coming.
Kian and Reed realized what was going on the last row and immediately came with the other three warriors, as they handed over the children in their arms and urged them to move faster than this, but it was so hard to do so.
Five beasts from Cane’s people came to help, but there were more enemies came down on them.
This wouldn’t do, if the reinforcement didn’t come quickly, there would be no one to be saved here. All of them would be slaughtered in no time.
Yet, the ground kept shaking as the battle grew fiercer. Zephyr and the other could feel how the ground became unsteady, but they couldn’t shake off their opponents and had to hold them back there.
However, they lost their balance when the ground where they were standing collapsed, it was a landslide and all of them fell from there, including Aliana, Haco and Celia.
The landslide created a chasm, separated the battle from the Bloody Wolf pack members.
