"I am not going anywhere," Aliana said sternly, she faced the two annoying men, who wanted to send her off back to the Howling Wolf pack. "I serve the luna and I received the order from the alpha, without their permission, I am not going anywhere."
Aliana was a little bit pale, because she just felt better after what happened, yet to her surprised, she woke up to see Jace was waiting for her, he was sitting on the chair beside her makeshift bed, ready to haul her back to their pack, thankfully she woke up or else, she wouldn’t be to have this argumentation.
"Stop being stubborn, Aliana!" Jace roared. It was very rare for the beta to raise his voice to his younger sister before, but when he did, you could imagine how frustrated he was with her. "I will get you on that damn carriage with or without your permission! You walk inside the carriage now, or I will carry you, your choice!"
Aliana lifted her chin arrogantly. "Or you can fight me, Jace."
"Aliana!" Jace barked.
However, Aliana didn’t seem to be affected at all, her expression stayed the same. She didn’t bother with her older brother’s anger. "I am not going anywhere. I am not a little girl, who needed your permission to do something that I want."
"You can die!"
"So be it!" Aliana shifted her attention toward Ethan, who had been silent all this time. He was exceptionally quiet for someone, who was very talkative. "Are you not going to do anything with this? Can you talk some sense to my brother?"
Ethan lifted his head and looked Aliana. "I agreed with him. I think you need to go back. This is very dangerous."
"What a bullshit!" Aliana scoffed.
But, before the situation could escalate further, Zephyr entered the room and informed them they were ready to go. There were dozens of carriages that would take the fallen warriors back to their respective pack, while the fallen Holy Knights would be cremated and their ashes would be spread in the ocean.
"The ships from Karam have been docked in the Chrystal Moon pack’s harbor. Eron and I will go there to receive them. We need one of you to come with me," Zephyr reported. He needed the beta or the gamma to come with them to face the merchant from the Karam and informed them their merchant had died during the civil war.
"I will go." Ethan volunteered, it was better than if he had to deal with Aliana. Let Jace take her back to the pack with whatever way he could think off.
"I am going with you!" Aliana went after Ethan, ignoring her brother’s protest. It was easier to deal with him than Jace anyway, more so, Ethan had been acting very distance with her lately. It didn’t sit well with her.
Right now, the royal warriors were forced back to take shelter in the Winter Moon pack after they lost the battle against the Holy Knights and the south warriors.
However, there was news that was much worse than that for alpha Nolan.
"What do you mean my son is being kidnapped!?" he snarled angrily at the warrior, who reported it. Currently, he had gone back to his pack after being besieged in Silver River pack for weeks only to find out his son was being kidnapped.
"Someone barged inside his bedroom and took him away..." the warrior knelt down, so low, his head hit the floor, he was trembling in fear upon facing the alpha’s wrath.
"Alpha!" Another warrior came inside the room and informed alpha Nolan about the letter from the Red Claw pack.
The more alpha Nolan read the letter, the more his face turned very dark, reflecting the gloomy sky out there.
"Son of bitch!" alpha Nolan roared, his claws emerged when he killed the two warriors before him, who he deemed unable to do their job, until his son was being kidnapped by the enemy. "I am going to kill Colter and ripped his heart out of his chest!"
Seeing the reaction from the alpha, people would immediately understand what had been written on the letter, which currently had been shredded into pieces.
Alpha Nolan went back to his table and saw the dagger that Dexter gave to him. He was supposed to stab Cane in his eyes, ruined his sight, but he didn’t get the opportunity to do so, he couldn’t even get his hands on his people.
Dexter threatened him with his own son too at that time, which forced him to choose side, but right now, his son was in the enemy’s hand.
"I don’t think we can hide my pregnancy for long," Iris said, as she stood in front of the body full mirror, staring at her own swollen belly.
The look on her face always put smile on Cane’s lips, his mate looked mesmerized by her own body. He couldn’t help, but approached her and hugged her from behind. She smelled so good and looked even more beautiful, as if there was this bright light that came from within her.
"What are you going to do?" Iris melted in Cane’s arms, rested her back against his sturdy chest, as she giggled to see their reflection. She wanted to see her baby so bad, she was curious who the baby would take after. Would the baby have her blue eyes or Cane’s black eyes? What about the hair? This silly thought would intrude her mind whenever she didn’t have anything to do.
"Let it be."
"Hm?" Iris leaned her head and exposed her neck, as Cane kissed her.
"If they learned about your pregnancy, so be it." They had hidden the pregnancy as best as they could, but when they were no longer able to do that, let them knew about it naturally. "When you healed the baby, was there any side effect on the baby?"
Cane wanted to know if Iris used her power, would it affect the baby, because he still conflicted whether or not to let her knew about this news.
"No. I feel fine. The curse on the baby is not as heavy as I imagined. It can be said as the light one, since Haco used to train me to purify the black stone. The one Haco used to give me was way heavier. Probably, because it was a baby, so it has a very strong affect."
Iris chuckled when she felt the baby kicked her from inside. "The baby is very active." Cane placed his palms on the spot where the baby was kicking, a warm smile on his lips. "I feel like there are two of them."
"I really want to see our child."
"Me too. I want to see our child soon."
Their wish would come true, they would see their children soon than they expected.
