The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 707

Chapter 707: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (49)

Laluna always thought that Iris was not capable of being pregnant, especially after more than a year she had been with Cane. She also had not yet given up with the idea of being Cane’s mate. As long as Iris had not yet given the firstborn for the alpha, her opportunity was still opened widely for her to try her chance.

However, she was very shock when she learned what happened. Iris was actually pregnant and from the look of it, it must not be an early pregnancy, how long it was?

Because it was winter and due to her petite figure, it was so easy to hide her swollen belly, especially when she wore dark cloak and you didn’t pay close attention.

But, today was different. In Laluna’s mission to be close with Iris in order to get her saw her point to share Cane with her, since she couldn’t bear his child, Laluna was stunned to learn Iris was actually with a child!

"How... how long are you?" Laluna tried to control herself, but it was very apparent that she was taken aback by this revelation.

"Six months," Iris replied, while caressing her stomach, while Ezra crept closer to her and hugged her. He didn’t like this woman, even though he had never seen before when he was being tortured, but he didn’t like her.

"You... you were pregnant when you came here?" Laluna was shocked beyond words. So, when she suggested for Cane to take her as his mate with the reason Iris couldn’t give him a child, she was actually pregnant?!

Laluna’s face turned very red because of the embarrassment.

"Yes, that’s why I spent a lot of time inside the room, because I used to feel lethargic, but I feel better now." Iris caressed Ezra’s white hair, he didn’t say much to other people, but he started to open up with Dean and Pax, and of course, he became very clingy with Iris.

Iris didn’t mind it, because she really needed something to distract her from being worried whenever Cane was away to the Aggeverya road.

"I..." Laluna stammered, her eyes fell on Iris’s stomach again. "I don’t know about that..."

"You must not pay much attention on me," Iris said it lightly, but Laluna blushed.

Of course, after Iris saved her baby, she didn’t pay close attention to her until recently, because her focus was on Cane, but now she had another method to convince the alpha to take her as his mate, she heard this shocking news.

"Cane and I decided not to make it public about my pregnancy and let the other people to learn about this on their own." Iris took Ezra into the room, but before that she spoke softly to Laluna. "If you don’t mind, can you please leave us alone? Because Ezra is not comfortable with other people yet. He must be very traumatized by what he had gone through."

Laluna’s face turned even redder when she heard what Iris tried to imply. She nodded awkwardly and congratulate Iris for her pregnancy.

"I wish all the best for you and the baby." It sounded very stiff and ingenuine, but Iris couldn’t care less, as she thanked Laluna for her wish.

After that, Dean closed the door behind him, as he joined Iris and Ezra after Laluna left.

"Is it okay now to let other people knew about your pregnancy, luna?" Dean looked worried for her.

Iris sat down on the sofa, while Ezra took a toy from the floor to give it to Iris, asking her to play with him.

"Can you write a letter for Cane, inform him that Laluna has learned about my pregnancy." Iris wanted Cane to be aware of this too, just in case, Laluna would create trouble when she learned about this. Iris didn’t have the patient to deal with her, if she had any indication wanting to harm her baby and herself.

"Yes, luna," Dean replied, he didn’t waste time, as he started to write for the alpha.

By this time, almost all the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack could read and write, even when they didn’t learn it directly from Iris, since the other warriors would help their fellow comrade to learn.

Later that night, Laluna asked for a dinner together, but Iris turned it down, by saying she had early dinner and was about to go to sleep now.

After that, Laluna had been pestering her about her pregnancy and sent a lot of food to her, where Iris didn’t touch it at all. She became cautious with what she ate. Even though, there was no indication Laluna would harm the baby and when Dean tried the food there was no reaction on him, Iris didn’t want to take the risk.

With that, Jace and Ethan couldn’t say otherwise. Both of them were not happy with this situation, but Aliana simply ignored their sullen mood.

"How long are you, luna?!" Joel and Finn came closer to Iris and congratulate her, they didn’t know about this and were extremely happy to hear this news after one month long hearing horrendous thing about the battle in the Aggeverya road.

Zale shifted his attention from the white hair little boy behind the luna’s back and paid close attention to her belly. She was indeed pregnant.

"I am almost seven months now," Iris replied with a beautiful smile on her face, she beamed with happiness to see the familiar faces that she knew. Her heart was very warm to be surrounded by people that matter to her, though there were a few faces that was missing.

Jace was flabbergasted, he looked around him, but aside from Joel, Finn and Zale, it seemed, everyone had already learned about her pregnancy, even Lou didn’t look surprise with this news.

Jace couldn’t accept this, he pulled Ethan aside. "Did you already know about this?" he asked the gamma in low voice.

"Yes, I did."

"Why didn’t you tell me?"

"Because the alpha wanted to keep it as long as possible. Cane and Iris agreed to let people learn about it naturally."

Jace felt like he was being betrayed. "You are not serious, right? You even kept this a secret from me?"

"Stop being dramatic, you have been taking care of the Howling Wolf pack all this time," Ethan replied lightly, he averted his gaze when Aliana looked at his way. He had been avoiding her.

"I can’t believe this..." Jace groaned.
