Aliana couldn’t imagine what her brother and the other warrior had to go through out there to face countless monsters on their own, while their only escape, which was inside this pack, behind the fortress was being closed.
"If you don’t open the gates, I am not going to let any of your kind alive to see tomorrow!" Aliana was trembling, as rage ran through her veins. "Mark my words!"
If her brother died, she was going to kill these useless knights, including the Serafim! She didn’t care about anything else, Jace was the only family left for her and she was not going to lose him in this way!
She was going to kill all of them or died trying to do it!
"Watch your word!" One of the knights roared at her, but Aliana growled back, challenged him to stop her.
"Enough!" Cedric snapped, he straightened his back and wiped the blood from his nose and mouth because of Aliana’s punch.
The head of the knight approached Aliana, his brows furrowed, but when he talked, he was calm enough, given the fact the woman before him just punched him squared on the face in front of the other knights there.
"If we opened the gates, the monsters will flood in and all of us will be in danger." Cedric stood within an arm reach from Aliana, as if he was not afraid to be punched again by her. "Do you want me to do that? Is that what you want?"
"And do you expect me to watch my brother and all of my pack member died out there?!" Aliana raised her voice even more, she was furious. The more they wasted their time in this ridiculous argument, the more danger her brother would be faced out there.
"So, you will disregard all the people inside of the fortress’s lives? The pack member of this pack too? The gamma’s life too?" Cedric still kept his composure and he knew his words reached Aliana, as she clenched her jaw and glared at him sharply, but she didn’t say anything.
Aliana then went to the edge of the fortress, where she witnessed the monsters had pitted the remaining warriors that was still outside of the gates. Her brother was one of them.
Unfortunately, this fortress was too high for the beast to climb it, thus the only way for them to enter was to open the gates again, but it would risk thousand of lives within the pack if the monsters managed to burst inside.
Aliana gritted her teeth, she looked around and found Joel and Eron had the same argumentation like she had earlier. Dyne came to confront Cedric as well.
They were in a very difficult situation, while faraway from them, Aliana could see the storm with the luna and Decratic was the center of it. The wind was very strong and if it hit them, no one could tell whether this fortress would be able to stand or not.
From where she was standing, Aliana had a better sight of everything and watched how the lycan entered the whirlwind and disappeared in the dust.
Whatever happened there, Aliana wished nothing, but for the luna and the alpha to be alive. They would lose everything if they lost them.
Meanwhile, Lou was having a hard time to hold his ground because the wind was getting stronger and the power of magic stone depleted pretty fast.
Zale was holding onto him, the young boy had shifted into his human form.
The only advantage in this situation was the fact this wind prevented the monster from going after them, so they didn’t need to be worried about that fact.
However, what happened with Iris and Decratic was still uncertain.
"Look! That’s the lycan!" Zale pointed his finger at the lycan. "The lycan is the alpha! Have you known about that before this?!"
Lou didn’t answer him, but Zale assumed this merchant knew about it beforehand and said nothing anymore, as the two of them watched how the lycan jumped into the strong whirlwind.
It was hard to see what was going on inside, because aside from the dust and the rocks that coiled in the air, the black wisp blocked their sight as well.
This black wisp was akin to tendrils, a slender threadlike that stretched out and twined around them.
The first thing that the lycan felt when he entered this was... misery. He felt a lot of pain. Not physically, but he felt this strong feeling of sadness and rage at the same time. This feeling was very strong, it brought the lycan down and forced him to shift back into his human form.
Lu tried to open his eyes to look for Iris and his red eyes caught the sight of her. She was sitting on the ground, staring at Decratic, who was standing in front of her, but her dark eyes filled with emptiness. The same gaze that he had seen ever since she absorbed the black magic and succumbed into her won agony.
Lu tried to call for her, but his voice was swallowed by the sound of the wind around them.
Decratic, who finally noticed his presence there tilted his head and smirked at Lu. His smile was the kind of smile that saying; he won. He won this game. He had Iris, Na in his hand.
Right now, Iris had succumbed into her deepest, darkest memories and she would be there forever. She would stay there indefinitely, trapped in her pain with no chance for her to recover. Her heart had been tainted, she lost her divine power and the five swords that contained the purest of her power had gone, they had been broken too.
"Do you really think you can have her now, lycan?" Decratic shifted his attention to Lu now, his eyes shone brightly, he was filled with victory. "You can’t have her in the past, you will not have her now too."
The wind around them became even more vicious, as it slashed Cane’s body, the small incision littered his skin and tore his shirt, but thanked to his healing ability, it didn’t bother him much.
Lu used his black wisp, but Iris used the same thing to fight him, which left him dumbfounded. How far Iris had lost herself right now?
Lu then felt this uncomfortable feeling. Iris was trying to squeeze his wolf spirit, attempting to kill him, but because it was him, instead of Cane, it didn’t have the same effect.
"Let her go," Lu said firmly. He walked closer toward them, ignored the fact the vicious black wisp that tried to take him down.
This was the power that he gave to her, just in case, Na came to the situation, where she lost her divine power, so she could protect herself, this was also a symbol that he would always with her, but who would have thought they were in this situation right now.
"Let her go, Decratic." Lu was closing the distance between them, he looked exceptionally calm, as he suppressed Cane’s desire to take over his own body, but because Iris pitted down his wolf spirit, the alpha was not strong enough to do so.
"Sure. Do you really want her?" Decratic let go of Iris, he actually gave a light push to make her fell into Lu’s arms.
However, Lu’s expression changed, once Iris was in his arms, because he felt this sharp pain in his chest and when he looked down, Iris had stabbed her, using the white dagger that Cane gave her months ago.
Blood trickled down from his wound, but instead of pushing her away, Lu hugged her even tighter and buried his face against the crook of her neck.
Meanwhile, Decratic guffawed to see this sight, he looked so happy to make the two of them hurting each other.
"I don’t think she wanted you anymore!" Decratic cackled. He felt very satisfied with this result. Now, he had tainted the purity of the Serafim, he could have her. All of her...
Yet, something that Decratic didn’t expect to happen was when Lu bit down Iris’s neck, where he put his mark on her.
Lu bit Iris on the same spot he marked her that night. This was a shield. This was his last resort to get his woman back!
If she couldn’t find her way back, then he would walk her...
