Aliana laughed at his antics and this made Ethan opened his eyes. "I love the sound of your laughing," he said, as he looked around him. "I assumed we are in the Silver River pack house? What happened when I was unconscious?"
Aliana laid down on the bed next to him, which was not unusual thing for them, but somehow, Ethan felt different with this gesture. He indeed told her to lay down next to him earlier, but maybe this was his muddleheaded mind that was talking.
"A lot of things happened." Aliana moved her body and faced Ethan. If the gamma was not that pale, his face would have been very red now.
"Dragon?!" Ethan was floored when he heard about Aliana’s story. He widened his eyes and she found his shocking expression was rather adorable. "Are you kidding me?"
"Is there a benefit for me to lie to you?" Aliana stared at Ethan’s scrunched brows.
"You should have woken me up, I want to see a dragon too," Ethan looked a little bit dejected because he was being left behind.
"Ridiculous," Aliana snorted. "If it is possible, I want to position swap with you."
Ethan pursed his lips. "No, I am fine not to fight the dragon." He still remembered the pain from the food poisoning and the Grebis. That kind of pain was not something he wanted Aliana to endure and even though they fought against the dragon and the horror of the situation, she was still alive and fine. So, he wouldn’t want to swap with her.
Both of them talked a bit about everything and their conversation was cut short when Ethan’s stomach grumbled.
"I think I am hungry," he said sheepishly.
"I bet you are," Aliana said with a smile. "You have been unconscious for so long and during that time, have not yet stomach a solid food." She pushed herself from the bed and got off. "I will cook something for you. I don’t know that you will wake up in the middle of the night like this." Thus, she didn’t prepare anything.
"I am going with you," Ethan said immediately.
"No, stay here."
"No. I want to go with you." Ethan didn’t want to waste his time laying down alone, he wanted to be with Aliana even if it only for staring at her when she was cooking something for him.
After argued a little, Ethan won and they went to the kitchen only to meet with the alpha and the luna there.
Apparently, it was not only the two of them, who were hungry in this late at night.
"Ethan!" Iris perked up when she saw Ethan had regained his consciousness. She jumped from the table, which surprised Cane, worried she would hurt herself, since the table was rather high and then ran off toward the gamma to hug him. "You are fine!"
Ethan almost fell back when Iris literally threw herself at him, she was too happy to see him, thus it didn’t cross her mind that the gamma was still physically weak, but thankfully, Ethan found his balance and Aliana supported his back.
"Oh, I am sorry," Iris said, as she immediately stood straight.
"Don’t worry," Ethan grinned. "But, if you are really sorry, I will be very happy to be able to taste the alpha’s food." He could see that Cane was cooking something for his mate.
Cane gave Ethan a side look, seeing he was already able to joke around, it meant there was nothing to be worried about. Grace and Iris had said he would be fine.
In the end, Ethan and Iris sat on the table, while Cane and Aliana cooked for the four of them. All of them looked very relax and peaceful with this moment, as they talked about a lot of things.
Apparently, Abby was still unconscious and from Aliana, they learned a few things about what was going on for the past two days.
There was nothing that really worth to note, Jace handled everything greatly and the damage on the fortress was being fixed, so did all the pack member’s houses. Warriors, knights and the pack members got involved in the process.
Meanwhile, the monsters outside of the gates were guarding them. It was a little bit awkward and scary to have them nearby, since their first instinct whenever they saw them was to fight, yet those monsters didn’t do anything aggressive or threatening.
Lil Thing had returned into its huge size when it came to join the fray, unfortunately, only two bears that left from a hoard that it brought with it.
Iris would give the white bear a visit when she felt better.
"Lou is fine. Grace has taken a good care of him, but he wanted to have Sabian here." Aliana recalled how the merchant had been very sullen because he couldn’t do anything and had a lot of demand, which made the servant in the pack house had their brows scrunched.
Lou was being difficult for no reasons sometime and they had written a letter for Sabian to come here.
"He might be here within a few days."
Aliana then updated them about the knights. Cedric didn’t do much, but he kept asking about Cane and Iris’s condition with the pretext he was worried about the two of them, but all of them knew, he had a lot of questions to ask after the last battle, especially now everyone had learned that Cane was the lycan.
Most of them had seen how the alpha shifted into his lycan form, but it was the knights, who looked weird about it, while the other shifters didn’t really care.
The lycan fought alongside them after all and the alpha and the luna were the hero. If it was not for Iris and Cane, all of them would have died, though some of them were still having their own concerned and most of them had a lot of questions too regarding this matter, especially when they were aware of the lycan’s history before this, which was understandable.
Cane complimented Aliana for what she had done during that stressful time.
"I think you need to address this matter specifically to the pack member, Cane," Ethan made a good remark.
"Hm." Cane simply nodded and finished his cooking.
Three days after that night, Iris and Cane started to go out and check on everything. The first thing that Iris did was to visit Lil Thing, since this white bear played an important role to help them.
Iris was sad when she saw Lil Thing lost its left ear. freewёbnoνel.com
"This must be hurt..." Iris said in sad voice, as she caressed the bear’s head and the bear, forgetting its size, nuzzled her body, a little bit too hard until she fell on the ground.
"Lil Thing!" Joel immediately came over to help Iris stood up, but the luna only laughed when Lil Thing snuggled against her stomach, rested its huge head on her lap, asking to be scratched.
"It’s okay, Joel." Iris smiled at the young warrior and patted the spot next to her. "Come here, sit here with me."
Joel then sheepishly did that. Today, it was only him, who accompanied Iris, since the other warriors were needed to fix a few things and the alpha started to give them tasks.
"I am glad you are fine." Iris was grateful the people that closed to her was still around.
"Thank you, luna. All of that because of you."
In the distance, Iris watched a woman with her two children, they were around the age of two and five, where they were bickering and the mother needed to separate them. Iris chuckled a little, while scratching Lil Thing’s head.
"Luna Iris."
"Yes?"
When Joel didn’t say what he wanted to say, Iris shifted her attention toward him, waiting for him to talk.
"What is it, Joel?"
"I heard you have regained your memories," Joel said, he heard about this from the warriors, who heard about the luna talked about Chrystal and Rora in passing with Aliana.
They were surprised, especially with how well the luna faced it.
"Yes. I did." Iris’s eyes looked sad, but she was steadfast with the reality.
"I am sorry for your lost, luna." Joel had been wanting to say this. He felt very sorry. "Are you, okay?"
"As a mother, who lost their children, I will never be okay. But, with time, I can deal with it." Iris then added with a beautiful smile on her lips and bereavement in her eyes. "Aliana said, Rora had blue eyes."
