"Where is my daughter?" Elder Rose asked Rei, her voice and the way she looked at the man was filled with hatred and anger. This was not the look that you would give to someone that you respected.
However, Elder Rose’s respect for Rei had gone for so many years.
"It had been more than four decades and you are still asking me the same question," Rei said calmly. He sat down on a chair and gestured for Elder Rose to sit down too, but she didn’t budge from where she was standing. She didn’t even want to sit at the same table with Rei if she could help it. "You know the rule, Rose."
"I don’t give a fuck to the rule!" Elder Rose hollered.
Right now, the two of them were inside Rei’s bedroom, where it was only the two of them. This room was surrounded by magic, thus no matter how hard Elder Rose was screaming, people outside wouldn’t be able to hear them.
Therefore, Rie let her scream and cursed as she liked.
"But, I care." Rei leaned his back against the backrest of the sofa and intertwined his long fingers, he stared at Elder Rose’s angry face. "I created the rule and I want all of you to follow. No question asked."
"I don’t give a damn about your fucking rule! I want to know about my daughter!" Elder Rose couldn’t help it anymore, she felt like she was going to attack him if he kept doing this to her.
Seeing Abby was pregnant triggered something inside her, the hatred that she had buried so deep now resurfaced again when she heard Abby was pregnant with baby girl and she knew what would happen next.
Abby might think she would only lose her baby for about a year, that was what Elder Rose thought too, but she lost her second daughter forever. She only held her once and that would be the first and the last time for her to see her baby, because Rei didn’t return her even after a year had passed.
"Where is she? What did you do to her?"
"You have asked that question a thousand times."
"And I will ask a thousand more until I got the answer."
"I don’t have any obligation to answer you."
"Where is she?!" Elder Rose lost it. "What have you done to her?!"
Still, Rei followed through with what he said. He didn’t give her the answer she wanted, instead he reminded her of her crime.
"You cared so much about your second daughter, but you were going to harm your other daughter." Rei tilted his head, as he stared intensely into Elder Rose’s eyes. "What’s your goal by aborting the baby?"
Rei came in time before Elder Rose managed to go through with her plan, but unfortunately Abby was already unconscious.
Seeing the situation, Rei had different idea in his mind. He was going to deal with Elder Rose, but before that, he needed to use the situation to his benefit, so he could meet with Iris again. Cane’s hunch was right about the whole situation.
Grace and Liam came after and they were trapped into this scheme.
It was also him, who had put Abby into asleep, but to his surprised, Iris couldn’t wake her up. She should be able to do so and this was a big question for him.
"I am not going to let you get the baby." Elder didn’t even try to lie with her intention.
"So, you preferred to kill the baby rather than have me to get my hand on the baby?"
"Yes." Elder Rose gritted her teeth. "You are not going to have the baby, Rei."
"Want to bet?"
==============================
Two weeks after the incident with the Serafim, all the preparation to march toward Moon Dew pack had been done and they were ready to go.
Along that time, Abby was still unconscious and despite the elders’ effort to put pressure on Cane and Iris to find a way to wake her up, neither of them budged. Iris even stayed inside her room for a whole day and Cane refused to discuss anything aside from their preparation.
"Yes, I remember," Cedric replied. He then furrowed his brows and looked at Iris. "Did you... the one, who saved me?"
"Yes, I did." Iris then added. "Grace also helped you." She didn’t take credit for herself.
"Thank you."
Cedric looked around him. This room was impeccable. Though he was in the shifter’s hand, but apparently, they treated him decently.
"What... happened? What they said about me?" Cedric was hesitated to ask, because he didn’t want to answer any question.
"Among the knights, no one talked about you and for the warriors..." Lou shrugged his shoulders, answering the question for Iris. "The warrior didn’t care whether you are alive or dead."
In another word, Cedric just vanished and no one care enough to find out where he was. It was not sure what the elders told them about Cedric, since he held an important position, but then this was an internal affair in Holy Kingdom, thus they couldn’t dig more.
"You need to rest. I will ask someone to deliver the medicine from time to time until you fully recover."
"Thank you."
Iris didn’t ask further question, neither she talked about the birthmark on his back, because he just woke up and she didn’t want to pressure him further, which Cedric was really grateful for, since he was still at lost of how to navigate the situation.
Iris only told him that he couldn’t be seen in public, or he would put himself in danger and more so, it would complicate thing between the shifter and the people from Holy Kingdom.
Cedric understood the implication of it, so he agreed without a second thought. After a few more word, Iris left the room.
"Look, since we have to share a room, you are going to sleep on that sofa and not to come closer to the bed, that’s my personal space, understood?" Lou made things clear between them.
And two days later, they went to Moon Dew pack, marched with full forces from shifters, knights, magic users and the merchants.
