Alice ignored Luke, logging into the game for her first battle. She knew these players were skilled.

Her opponent was a Berserker, tough to beat. He taunted, “Little girl, beg for mercy, and I might let you off easy. You can’t keep a win bought with a proxy player.”

Alice didn’t respond, attacking immediately. Five minutes later, she’d won decisively. There was a three–minute break between battles. The chat exploded again:

“Where’s that cocky guy? Time to eat your words!”

Luke stared at his screen, thinking he’d misheard. The streamer’s voice was identical to Alice’s. What was happening? Was he going deaf?

He looked at his secretary.“Did that streamer speak just now?”

The secretary nodded. “Yes, it sounded like a young girl. Anything wrong?”

Luke said nothing, staring at the screen. His mind was reeling.“[Sweet Lemon].” He hadn’t considered that Alice’s childhood nickname was Lemon. He felt a tightness in his chest. If it was Alice, he couldn’t even imagine the implications!

Chloe approached.“Luke, what’s wrong? You look pale.”

Luke swallowed.“That streamer’s voice… it sounds like Alice! Could it be her?”

“Luke, I suspected it was Alice yesterday, after hearing the voice. But I think it’s a coincidence. There are look–alikes; similar voices

aren’t uncommon.”

Luke relaxed.“You’re right. It’s probably a coincidence.” He didn’t want to believe it was Alice. He couldn’t bear to consider that

possibility.

The secretary exclaimed, “Boss, the streamer gained 200,000 followers, and the viewership hit 100,000!”

Luke looked.“So fast?”

“Yes! She hasn’t lost a single battle, and she wins easily!”

“If we get her on our team, the finals are a sure thing!” Luke’s eyes gleamed with excitement. He agreed.

Chloe’s smile faltered. If this person joined the team, what would happen to her? Luke might give this person the Net Idol award.

Chloe was jealous but said nothing.

After two hours and ten victories, Alice reached the top 100. She smiled, rubbing her sore wrists. Gifts poured into the chat.

Alice spoke into her mic.“Thank you for the gifts. I’ll continue tomorrow. This is my first time livestreaming.”
