Alessa slowly opened her eyes and looked around but she couldn't see anything due to how dark the room was. She tried to move but she groaned in pain.
She stared down at herself and realized she was tied to a chair.
Her eyes widened in shock and she tried to free herself but she couldn't.
She recalled what happened with the ranked students.
She decided to stay calm because it could be a test. She sighed and looked around again but it was still all dark.
A light suddenly came on and she shut her eyes due to how bright it was. She slowly opened them back and realized the light was from a screen.
A countdown suddenly came on and Alessa furrowed her brows wondering what was going on.
The countdown was over and immediately, Bryan and Lydia appeared on the screen. It was a video of them at a party dancing happily.
Alessa watched the video with mixed emotions. She was confused, terrified, and sad.
Confused because she had no idea why she was watching this, terrified because she had no idea where she was and why she was tied to a chair, and sad because of what she was watching.
Bryan was happy as he danced with Lydia, he was so happy that Alessa couldn't believe what she was watching was real. She has never seen Bryan so happy.
The video kept going and Alessa saw familiar faces, it was a ball party judging from how the room looked.
Her parents appeared in the video and they danced with Bryan too. Alessa stared at it in disbelief as her lips parted slightly.
They are all happy without her.
The video ended and immediately Bryan and Lydia’s wedding came on. Alessa watched as they said their vows with so much joy.
Bryan’s vows were filled with so much love. Again, it felt so unreal to Alessa. She didn't have a proper wedding with Bryan, her wedding was on a contract.
Just when Alessa thought it couldn't get worse, another video came on. This time it was Bryan and the least person she expected to see, Rico.
They were both in a room having a meeting and judging from their reactions, they looked like friends.
Alessa’s lips parted in shock and the tears she had been fighting, streamed down her cheeks.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She hoped it wasn't real. She hoped the video was generated through artificial intelligence.
She couldn't believe it!
Rico never mentioned that he knows Bryan. The only time he mentions Bryan was anytime she brought him up.
What the hell is going on? Is her whole life a lie?
The video ended and another one came on. It was a video of her kids. Alessa smiled seeing them.
They were sleeping peacefully with a nurse next to them. Alessa sniffed as she watched it.
The video ended and the screen went off. The room became bright, and Alessa looked around.
She found Madam Olga leaning on the wall and staring at her.
Alessa was about to speak but Madam Olga beat her to it.
“You will find out what you just watched soon. I just wanted to show you a few things you don't know.” Madam Olga said as she slowly walked to her.
“Wh… what? Why?” Alessa asked.
“Isn't it obvious at this point Alessa? No one loves you or cares about you. You were betrayed by every single person you have met. Think about it Alessa, your parents, your ex-husband, Rico, and Aliyah. They all betrayed you and left you to suffer.” Madam Olga said as she got to her.
“Stop caring about them Alessa. Stop caring about anyone. The world’s already decided you are on your own, act like it!”

“Am I bait again this time?” Tracy rolled her eyes as Alessa helped her with her hair.
