"Yes, Mr. Sutton." Without hesitation, Jarrett executed a swift U-turn.

As Kieran's headlights pierced the darkness, they saw Freya and Preston stepping into a car outside Echo City University, one after the other.

Kieran's expression darkened immediately.

Jarrett, who was behind the wheel, was also taken aback when Preston glanced their way before getting into his car, as if deliberately trying to provoke them.

Kieran looked even more upset. Jarrett ventured, "Mr. Sutton... maybe we should..."

"Let's go!" Kieran cut him off sharply, "From now on, I have nothing to do with Freya!"

Seeing Kieran so enraged, Jarrett swallowed the words he had intended to say in Freya's defense.

Freya smiled at him, saying nothing more.

"But Kieran saw you getting into my car," Preston mentioned nonchalantly.

As Johanna spoke, she glimpsed Preston's profile through the car window before it rolled up and the vehicle drove away.

Noticing the men's jacket on Freya and her disheveled appearance, Johanna's expression darkened. "Did you mess around with some guy? Freya, that's shameless! Do you know how many times Mr. Sutton called? How could you..."

"Sneak off with some man?" Freya stepped closer to Johanna, and her gaze turned icy. "Johanna, you dare say anything."

"What... what's with that look?" Johanna took a step back, confused by the turn of events.

Freya continued coldly, "Leland had me kidnapped to Echo City University, intending to assault me and force me to hand over the Dawson family's assets and business. Did you instruct him to do that as well?"
