Melody certainly felt better about the hardships she endured when she thought like that. Smiling in blissful happiness, she waited for Lucas to come back from the restroom so she could tell him her decision.
She was willing to give it a try with him, to start anew.
Ring!
Lucas' phone, which was on the table, suddenly rang.
Melody glanced in the direction of the restroom. Lucas was nowhere in sight, but the phone continued to ring incessantly. People around were already looking her way, so she had no choice but to pick it up.
"Thalia?"
It was the name on the screen. Strangely enough, Melody felt the name was somewhat familiar.
Hesitatingly, she glanced in the direction of the restroom, and there were still no signs of Lucas. The person on the other end of the call seemed to be urgently calling, so she reluctantly answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Lucas, why did you only pick up now? I've called several times! What are you so busy with?"
Melody's heart skipped a beat. 'Who is this sweet-sounding girl on the other end? Why does it sound like she's really close to Lucas?'
There was a moment of silence on the other end, as if the girl had not expected another woman to dare answer Lucas' phone. Then, the girl lightly chuckled.
"I see. You must be Melody, right? Lucas mentioned you before, and he even said you're a very interesting girl."
Melody was quite puzzled. Why would Lucas bring up her name when talking to this girl? Could this girl be a relative of Lucas?
Since becoming Lucas' 'wife', Melody had not met any other members of the Rivera family. The spacious mansion only housed Beatrice and Cedric. She had heard that Lucas had a sister who, after marriage, traveled the world with her husband. Could this girl on the phone be his sister, then?
"Yeah, do you know me? Can you tell me your name? It would be easier for me to let Lucas know who's calling," Melody asked tentatively. The feeling of the other person knowing her while she remained unaware of their identity was quite uncomfortable.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
