Cedric took out his phone and scrolled through the contacts. "I have good relationships with the parents of several producers and directors. I can arrange a gathering if you want to meet them."
Melody was pleasantly surprised. She knew the significance of the people in Cedric's contacts. For young actresses like her, knowing just one of them could pave the way for big opportunities.
However, she was already working on a film, and she hoped to earn her next role through her efforts.
"Thanks, Grandpa, but it's not necessary. I plan to fight for the roles I want myself," said Melody confidently.
Beatrice, pleased with Melody's determination, said, "That's my girl. But remember: you can find us whenever you need help."
Certainly, the Riveras would stand by Melody. The recent incidents on the film set were a wake-up call to them.
…
[Melody, are you okay? I heard there were some incidents with your film crew recently. I hope it hasn't affected you.]
Melody checked her phone and saw that there was a message from Sherman.
"Grandma, please excuse me for a moment. I need to reply to a friend's message." Melody informed Beatrice politely before attending to her phone.
Beatrice nodded with a smile. "Go ahead. It's good for young people to spend time with each other."
…
[How did you hear about the recent incidents in my film crew?] Melody replied.
…
Beatrice glanced at her curiously, wondering what they were talking about.
"What do you think they're talking about to make her so happy?" she asked Cedric—who was about to doze off—with a nudge.
"Didn't you just say that young people should spend more time with each other? Well, isn't Melody doing just that?" retorted Cedric.
"Tsk, I meant for Melody and Lucas to spend more time together! Look at them, one's upstairs, the other's downstairs. One is working, and the other is texting. They're not even together. How can their relationship progress like this?"
Beatrice could not help but worry, especially seeing Melody happily texting away to someone else.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
