Sherman nodded. "Bingo. Now let's go check on Esmond's situation."
Despite the relaxed atmosphere during the journey, Rita's heart raced as they arrived at the club's parking lot.
"Are you nervous?" Sherman asked.
Rita nodded. "Of course. This is our first time being in such close contact with Esmond, after all."
"Don't focus too much on gathering information. It's just the two of us, and all we need to do is meet him. It'll be great if we succeed, but if we don't, we can treat it like any regular outing. Don't put too much pressure on yourself," Sherman advised.
"I am curious to see the face of the person who's behind all these cruel acts," said Rita with a stern gaze.
Sherman felt a tug at his heartstrings and said, "Then what are we waiting for?"
He took Rita's hand as they neared the entrance, and she glanced at their clasped hands before her gaze moved up to his face.
"I apologize in advance, Rita. I might put you in a difficult position today by having to hold our hand," Sherman murmured in a low voice to avoid being overheard.
"You could say the same about me," Rita replied in the same hushed tone.
A genuine smile unfurled across Sherman's face as he was taken aback by Rita's responses. "Guess we're both putting each other in a difficult position then."
Rita put on a stern face and nodded. "I guess we are."
"Give us a VIP room, then. We're not looking to spend extravagantly right away. We need to give this place a test run first to see if your services justify the cost," Rita declared.
The attendant nodded. "Of course. Our VIP rooms come in five tiers. If you're unsure, I recommend starting with the basic one."
However, Sherman interjected from behind Rita. "I'll take the highest tier."
Rita immediately latched onto his arm and feigned annoyance. "Come on, we don't have to splurge on the most expensive option when it's only our first time here. It's such a waste! We don't even know if it'll be enjoyable."
The attendant immediately countered. "That's no fun, is it? Judging by your appearance and that of this gentleman, money doesn't seem to be an issue. What's the point of making money if you don't spend it? Life is all about relaxing and having fun!"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
