Sherman clenched his fists under the table, unsure of what to say.
Rita added, "I never meant to play the victim. I just want to tell you that I'd never approach someone I like using such means. Please give me a little trust, considering how long we've known each other, okay?"
She looked at Sherman hopefully, eager for a positive response. However, just as Sherman was contemplating, an unexpected person appeared.
Vince walked over with a big smile and casually placed one hand on Sherman's shoulder. "Rita, your health hasn't fully recovered yet, so why are you out here meeting people? But I guess I can make an exception if it's to see Sherman. Just tell me next time, okay? After all, he's my future son-in-law, so I should meet him too."
Rita's expression immediately changed. "What are you doing here? How did you know I was here?"
She glanced at Sherman, who was looking at her with disdain. "Trust me, I don't know what he's doing here!"
"Silly child, things have already come to this point, and you still want to hide it? How could I have found this place if you hadn't told me the meeting place in advance? Although you're about to become husband and wife, honesty is still important in such small matters. That's the only way a marriage would last longer."
Vince spoke with the tone of someone experienced, which made Rita feel even more disgusted. She could not figure out how he knew that she and Sherman had arranged to meet at this location.
Sherman's outreached hand paused in mid-air. He instinctively looked at Rita, only to find her eyes were filled with shock as well.
'Is she genuinely unaware, or is she collaborating with her father to deceive me again?' Sherman no longer had the patience to figure it out.
"How is this possible? This is clearly the only original copy. Are you trying to deceive me?" Rita anxiously sought an answer from her father. She had gone to great lengths to steal the flash drive, only to be told by him that there was nothing on it.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
