Claire subconsciously toned down her aggressive demeanor when she saw Rita coming out. She even dusted off the dust on her skirt.
"What am I doing here? Rita, are you that clueless? Why don't you ask yourself what you've been up to lately?"
Rita smiled and replied, "Miss Claire, you seem to have overstepped your boundaries. Our relationship should be that of interviewer and interviewee. What obligation do I have to report my activities to you?"
"We didn't have much of a relationship before, but you stole my boyfriend. That's a big deal. How shameless can you be? We've been together for so many years, and there has never been another woman by his side, only you. The moment you appeared, you stole him. How ruthless of you. Does your family know you're a homewrecker? Won't your mother feel ashamed of your behavior?"
Even though Rita had not done anything like that, her face gradually turned red under Claire's questioning, especially since her mother had passed away long ago. Moreover, she had no idea what Claire was talking about.
"Miss Claire, why do you insist on making me admit to something I haven't done? You're not a judge. What gives you the right to accuse me of stealing your boyfriend? And you haven't even told me who your boyfriend is. If I don't even know who he is, how could I have stolen him? Please refrain from making baseless accusations!"
Rita tried to compose herself, but Claire unexpectedly blurted out Sherman's name.
"You're talking nonsense. You and him were never together," said Rita.
Claire stepped forward with a composed demeanor. "Who told you we were never together? When have you ever seen a man be so open? If we weren't together, how could we be so intimate? I can freely enter his office. Have you seen anyone else with that privilege? Do you know when his birthday is? What is his favorite food? You know nothing, so what gives you the right to conclude that I'm not his girlfriend?"
"Wow, we have quite the talent pool here at New Capital Times. I can't believe one of ours is Sherman's wife!"
"Hey, please don't say that. These two are still arguing."
Rita could not help but wonder, 'Had Claire and Sherman been together all along? Why didn't Sherman tell me?'

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
