The Day My Contract Ended I Married Another Man novel Chapter 106

Chapter 11

His suit was wrinkled, his eyes bloodshot. The moment he saw me, Ethan dropped to his knees

with a heavy thud.

“Baby! We were husband and wife once-please, have mercy on me!”

I stirred my tea slowly, deliberately. “Oh? Now you remember what it means to talk about loyalty

between husband and wife?”

I looked up at him. “That day out on the water, when I begged you to spare me and the baby- what did you say then?”

His face turned ghostly pale. He lowered his forehead to the ground. “I was wrong! I really know I

was wrong now!”

He crawled closer, reaching for the hem of my dress. “It was all Vanessa-she tricked me! She said she could help take the company public.”

Clack!

I set my teacup down hard on the table. “Still blaming someone else, even now?”

I stood, towering over him.

“Do you know what’s funniest of all? You threw away a real heiress for a fake one.”

He shook all over, his face wet with snot and tears. “Baby, please-think of what we used to have!

Save me!”

“We’re divorced. Stop calling me that.”

“Think of our history-”

“You think you’re worthy of that word?”

I turned toward the house. “Guards, throw him out. Tell security this dog is never to set foot on

my property again.”

As I watched Ethan being dragged away in disgrace, my hand brushed lightly over my stomach.

Baby, Mommy’s avenged you.

A week later, I was watching the evening news when my lips curved into a cold smile.

Ethan had been arrested for commercial fraud, tax evasion, and multiple other charges.

The irony was almost sweet-at the police station, he ran into Vanessa, who had been arrested the

same day.

Turns out she wasn’t just posing as the Blake Corporation’s heiress; she was also involved in running a prostitution ring, along with numerous fraud charges.

Footage from the interrogation room showed Ethan’s face twist in fury the moment he saw her in

the next cell, cuffs on her wrists.

“You conniving bitch!”

From behind the bars, he roared, “If you hadn’t seduced me, I wouldn’t be in this mess!”

Vanessa shot back without hesitation, her voice shrill.

“Bullshit! You were the one greedy for wealth! If you hadn’t promised to make me a society wife,

I’d never have gotten mixed up with a loser like you!”

They tore into each other, dragging every dirty secret into the open.

Ethan called her a fraud. She called him a kept man who’d built his career off his wife’s family.

The cops didn’t even bother to step in, letting them tear each other apart.

Watching their pathetic bickering on TV, I picked up my phone and dialed a number. “Mr. White,

you can begin.”

Three days later, every colleague who had taken part in that “water gun game” received a lavish invitation from an unnamed wealthy sponsor-an all-expenses-paid, seven-day luxury trip to the Maldives.

They boarded the private jet full of excitement, clueless about what awaited them.

When the plane landed on a deserted island in the Indian Ocean, the truth hit.

The only building in sight was a dilapidated shack marked “Team Building Base.”

Inside, piled high, were the very same high-pressure water guns they had once used on me.

The loudspeakers crackled to life with my voice. “Welcome, everyone, to your dream vacation. There are more than enough water guns here- so play as much as you like… just like you did with

me.”

Then I cut all communication lines, leaving only one small boat to deliver supplies once a week.

Those who had laughed at me would now spend an unforgettable month on that island.

Every day, the only thing they had to eat was an endless supply of canned cockroaches.
