Mrs Foster and slipped away in shame!

Ugh-this is the best news I’ve heard in ages!

Tonight shouldn’t we celebrate?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck, tracing lazy circles on his chest with one manicured finger.

Her voice turned sultry

“All those years apart… I missed you so much.”

Charles instinctively stood and stepped back, putting distance between them.

His mind was in chaos, his voice hoarse,

“Diana, don’t… I-I still have a wife.”

Diana stared at him in disbelief.

“But you’re divorced!”

“You married that maid just to get back at me, didn’t you? Out of jealousy, because I married Jonathan. You never even

loved her!”

“Now that she’s gone, and I’m divorced too, why can’t we start over?”

“Evan’s still sick-he needs both his parents by his side!”

Charles stared blankly at her seductive red lips, moving nonstop-so loud, so grating.

His mind kept replaying images of Vivian.

When he’d drunkenly snapped, “Someone like me doesn’t deserve a maid-just leave.”

She’d looked him straight in the eye and said, “A rough patch doesn’t define you, Mr. Foster, don’t sell yourself short.”

Their wedding night-he’d only kissed the corner of her lips, and she’d flushed bright red.

She couldn’t even say I love you out loud-so he’d pretended to sleep, just to hear her whisper near his lashes and nose,

“Baby… I love you so much.”

Six years of marriage had wrapped itself into every part of his life.

He’d gotten used to her presence-gentle and steady.

Now, the thought of never seeing that woman again… sent a wave of panic surging through him.

Chapter 12

Charles’ gaze slid past Diana and locked onto Mr. Chambers.

With a sharp, deliberate look, he wordlessly ordered him to investigate.

He had originally planned to settle things with Diana first, then quietly visit the place where Vivian might be hiding.

But just a moment later. Mr. Chambers rushed back in, brow furrowed, his expression seemed more flustered than

Charles had ever seen.

A bad feeling clawed at his chest,

“What is it? Did you find her?”

Mr. Chambers hesitated for a few seconds.

“I did… But, Mr. Foster, it’s not good news. Mrs. Foster-Vivian-has erased her identity. That name no longer exists in any

official record.

The shock slammed into Charles like a brick wall.

He stood frozen, as still as stone.

Ash drifted from the cigarette between his fingers, yet he didn’t even notice.

He didn’t understand.

She had no family. No one else in the world.

He was all she had left.

So why would she leave?

And more importantly-he had never signed that damn divorce agreement.

No. That divorce certificate had to be fake.

What he didn’t notice was the victorious smirk tugging at the corner of Diana’s lips.

She shot a look at Mr. Chambers, silently mouthing: Leave.

She poured a glass of wine, slipped a sleeping pill in with practiced ease, and stepped toward Charles in her heels, her

voice as soft as velvet.

“Charles… I know you’re upset. Here, have a drink. Alcohol helps you forget.”

His mind still whirled with thoughts of Vivian, so he took the glass without question and downed it in one gulp.

When he came to, he found himself staring in disbelief at the naked woman beside him.
