The Day Silence Spoke novel Chapter 315

Yesenia was just starting her career in entertainment. If this scandal broke, the public backlash would be brutal. No matter how powerful Clifford was, if the audience turned against her, her career would be over before it even began.

Clifford stopped and turned to Ziven. “What do you suggest?”

Ziven hesitated for a moment. “Well, we’d need to bring in a professional public relations team.”

Clifford seemed to consider this. “For now, just leave it.”

“For now?” Ziven didn’t understand his boss’s strategy. If they waited until the story was out of control, it would be too late to contain it.

But seeing Clifford’s calm demeanor, Ziven figured he must have a plan and decided not to press the issue. He switched topics. “Mr. Lambert, the company’s stock has stabilized but hasn’t recovered. Now that the merger with the international subsidiary is complete, you suggested holding a press conference. When should we schedule it?”

Clifford sat down and picked up a file. “Have Greyson come see me.”

“Sir?” Ziven was having trouble keeping up, but when Clifford said nothing more, he nodded and went to do as he was told.

A few minutes later, Greyson arrived. As he approached the chairman’s office, he noticed Latisha sitting in the adjacent room. This entire floor was supposed to be empty aside from Ziven; Clifford was hand-picking his new executive staff. Seeing Latisha here was… interesting.

Greyson knew the basics of their situation. He knew Clifford had been forced by Darby to marry the mute. He also knew Clifford paid her no mind, preferring the actress he kept on the side—Yesenia, his supposed true love.

But seeing the wife here, in the office, made Greyson’s eyes narrow thoughtfully behind his glasses.
