Aldridge Estate, in the study room.
Felix sat with his eyes closed, leaning silently against the sofa.
The captain of the Aldridges' security team, Kolton, entered the room with a heavy expression, hesitating to speak.
"Any news from Mr. Ramsey?" Felix slowly opened his eyes.
Kolton responded, "Mr. Aldridge, all four elite survey teams we sent to Snow Valley have reported back. After 20 hours of searching, they found nothing.
"They suspect that Mr. Ramsey may have perished."
Felix's body trembled violently.
For a full 15 minutes, the study remained in utter silence.
Then, Felix looked firmly at Kolton. "Tell them to continue the search! All rescue teams must intensify their efforts!
"Mr. Ramsey is a living legend. He would never fall so easily!
"Those who hope for his disappearance will ultimately face utter destruction!"
"Yes, Mr. Aldridge!" Kolton bowed in response.
"How is Luella doing?" Felix pulled out a list. "Give this to her. These names belong to our most loyal friends.
"If the Aldridges face an unprecedented disaster, they will ensure Luella's safety.
"Additionally, I've arranged for Pierre to be freed. From now on, he will stay by Luella's side as her personal bodyguard.
"Have them leave for Qacalisle Island immediately."
Kolton understood the implication. Felix was preparing for the worst. "Yes, Mr. Aldridge."
"They've already made their move. The Aldridges' businesses are suffering devastating attacks. Our three core industries are nearly under their control.
"Our funds are draining rapidly. At this rate, we won't last three months."
Felix glanced at the financial report Kolton handed him.
"This is no cause for alarm. The Aldridges are too vast to collapse entirely within a year or two.
"Inform all executives to lay low, avoid direct confrontations, and wait for the right moment.
"This is also the perfect opportunity to flush out the moles hiding within our ranks.
"Also, under your name, allocate 10 billion dollars to bolster the security forces protecting the Aldridges worldwide and issue additional year-end bonuses."
At the Dunns' mansion, Harmonfield, Draconia.
With nearly a month left until the New Year, the Dunns' mansion was filled with festive cheer.
Shirley had been working overtime for days, hoping to free up time for Robin's return and their upcoming wedding.
Even though it was the weekend, she worked late into the night, only leaving her office at 11 p.m.
Winter had fully embraced Harmonfield; tonight, heavy snow blanketed the city.
On the drive home, memories of Robin flooded Shirley's mind.
It had also been a snowy night when she first met him—when four kidnappers had taken her hostage.
On the brink of death, Robin appeared like a hero descending from the heavens, rescuing her instantly.
From that moment on, her heart was entirely his.
From then on, spring blossoms and autumn moons, misty rains and drifting snow, morning glow and evening sun, the waxing and waning of the moon—all were painted in color.
From then on, she understood that loving someone is far more blissful and joyful than being loved and cherished.
Just as she reached the foot of the mountain near her villa, a group of people blocked her path.
"Ms. Dunn." Elliott stepped forward, holding Robin's phone and leopard-print access card.
Shirley froze, lowering her window. "Mr. Chandler, why are you waiting here so late?"
"These belong to the Mr. Ramsey. He told me to make sure they were delivered to you."
"Shut up!" Shirley's eyes burned with fury. "I won't let you speak such nonsense, Robin is going to be okay!
"Even if the whole world says he's gone, I won't believe it!
"He's not just anyone. He's a hero! My hero! No one can hurt him!"
Amber wiped her tears and quickly supported the faltering Shirley. "Ms. Dunn, please don't do this. Don't cry."
"Amber, they're lying to me, aren't they?" Shirley angrily pointed at Elliott.
Amber shook her head, too choked up to speak.
"Mr. Dunn Sr., greetings!" Elliott called out as Drake and Timothy rushed down from the villa.
"Mr. Chandler, please come inside for tea," Drake invited politely.
"Mr. Dunn Sr., I must return to Northlorn Residence to handle urgent matters. Please take care of Ms. Dunn. We will take our leave!" Elliott said before turning to Shirley.
"Ms. Dunn, if you ever need anything, the Northlorn Residence will always be at your service. Take care."
Shirley ignored them.
She opened Robin's phone, looked through the pictures he had taken of Snow Valley, and then listened to his recordings.
"Robin, he will come back! He's my hero, a man of his word! He will return to marry me."
Clutching Robin's phone, Shirley murmured to herself.
Step by step, she walked toward the place where they had first met.
The snow in Harmonfield fell heavier, covering the entire city in a white veil.
Shirley ran through the endless snowfall, seeing Robin's figure in every direction.
"Robin, you scoundrel, you're walking too fast! I can't keep up. Wait for me."
As she staggered through the storm, the once radiant strands of her hair turned stark white instantly.
