Divine Drakebane had returned.
One man, alone, had shattered Tanqueria's defenses. He crippled their Northwest Defense Base.
Tanqueria's king had no choice but to request a ceasefire. Their highest officials had to apologize to Divine Drakebane in public.
News of Robin's survival spread like wildfire.
The entire world was talking about it.
Everyone speculated on his next move, and most believed it would be the Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance.
Some even created entire timelines for his vengeance.
The World of Darkness was eerily quiet.
Lunelle Zone held its breath.
HexaPoint Tower convened an emergency security meeting.
The Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance scrambled to prepare.
...
Divine Drakebane's return from Snow Valley was like a butterfly in a tropical rainforest, its wings stirring a storm that swept across the globe.
Talk of Robin's revenge spread far and wide. The internet buzzed non-stop.
Snivy knew Zayn would soon hear the truth. Robin was alive.
Once that news hit, the ten years of planning Zayn had carefully crafted would crumble to dust.
Time was running out.
"Your Highness," Snivy said, bowing slightly as he offered a cup of clear water.
"There's a message from the small building. Ms. McKay wants to see you. Should I tell her you'll come?"
Zayn shot up, a sharp wave of rejection crossing his face. "I'm not going. I've had Catherine locked up there for days. If she sees me, she'll rip me apart.
"Let her stay a little longer. I'll release them once I return to Brighton."
Zayn lay back down, eyes closed, sinking into a quiet rest.
Snivy hesitated, then continued. "What if I bring her some necessities—fruits, snacks? I'll tell them it's from you. It could calm them down a bit."
Zayn waved a hand dismissively. "Fine. Go ahead."
He paused, a deep sigh slipping from his lips. "Snivy, maybe keeping them here is more trouble than it's worth."
"If it gets too difficult ... let them go."
Snivy watched Zayn, still lounging in his chair with his eyes closed. A dark glint flashed in his own gaze.
He swiftly poured an aphrodisiac into Zayn's cup.
"Your Highness, I've heard that Robin survived the Snow Dragon Pool. He's on his way to Harmonfield now."
"What?" Zayn sprang from his chair. His heart raced, his breath caught in his throat. "What ... what did you say? Robin is still alive?"
"Yes, Your Highness." Snivy passed him the cup.
Zayn's throat burned, dry and tight. He snatched the cup and drained it in one swift motion.
Snivy noticed the cold sweat beading on Zayn's forehead, his anxiety seeping through. "Your Highness, should we split up and release them all now?"
Zayn nodded quickly, desperate. "Yes, yes, do it now ... I'll go to Shirley and Vera. You ... release Catherine and the others."
"Remember, don't tell Catherine I'm still in Harmonfield, or she'll kill me."
Snivy watched Zayn rush off, a cold smile curling on his lips.
"Heh, Zayn ... by the time you reach Shirley's cell, the drug will be in full effect.
"Then, you'll be nothing but a beast, driven by desire, with no fear left in you.
"Once you've taken Shirley, there's no turning back.
"You'll have no choice but to obey me."
Once Zayn left, Snivy swiftly commanded his men.
Gasoline splashed around the small building where Catherine and the others were held.
"Ms. Dunn," he chuckled darkly. "Are you lonely here all by yourself?"
His footsteps were slow, deliberate, each one closer, his gaze filled with a feverish longing.
A guard at Westeria Residence saw the change in Zayn and rushed over. "Your Highness, what's wrong?"
Zayn shoved him aside, his voice a low growl. "Get out of my way! I'm going to enjoy my time with Ms. Dunn!"
The guard's instincts screamed at him.
Before Zayn even arrived, Hannibal had called.
Hannibal had made one thing clear: protect Shirley. Robin was on his way to Harmonfield.
If anything happened to Shirley, they would all die. Either Robin would kill them, or Hannibal would.
The guard had known the moment Zayn arrived something was wrong.
Zayn had been drugged.
If this wasn't stopped now, it would end in disaster.
When Robin arrived, they would all be dead.
Zayn staggered forward, inching closer to Shirley. The guard acted fast, grabbing a bucket of cold water and throwing it over Zayn's head.
Zayn jerked back, his eyes wide with fury. "Damn it! You want to die?"
The guard dropped to his knees, panic in his voice. "Your Highness, you've been drugged! If this continues, we'll all be dead when Robin arrives!"
Zayn froze, his eyes locking on Shirley.
Her fragile form stood there, untouched.
His throat tightened as he swallowed, struggling to stay in control. But the drug surged again, more forceful this time.
"Move!" Zayn kicked the guard aside. His movements were shaky, but he pushed forward, unbuckling his clothes in a frenzy.
"Ms. Dunn, I'm coming for you," he laughed, the sound twisted and hollow.
