The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1250

Jethro frowned slightly.

He picked up his binoculars again and watched as Maverick chased Snivy into the distance. A long sigh escaped his lips.

"Mr. Ramsey, we've already reached out several times," he said. "The newly appointed Commander, Finlo Keane, is currently holding a strategic meeting. His aide said they'll contact us once it's over."

Elliot snorted. "That meeting won't end in less than ten days or maybe even two weeks. And don't expect the new Commander to authorize any artillery support for the fleets in eastern waters."

Robin paused briefly.

He knew it was foolish to pin any hope on the command center to give an order for the fleets in eastern waters to support Maverick.

It was risky to mobilize such a large force without any preparation, drills, or advance notice.

Besides, in their eyes, the Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet was hardly worth taking seriously.

The Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet was undeniably powerful and now positioned provocatively in international waters just off the eastern waters of Draconia.

However, the overly confident command center never believed that Shepherd's Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet would dare to provoke them.

To them, no matter how strong they looked, it was just for show.

They weren't something worthy of a military response.

More importantly, any mobilization of the armed forces in eastern waters could easily trigger misunderstandings from foreign powers. It would bring on questions and diplomatic pressure they didn't want.

These leaders cared deeply about how the world perceived Draconia.

They feared any aggressive move would bring condemnation from the international press and powerful foreign entities.

The leaders had always been adamant that no region or faction should ever portray Draconia as a hostile nation.

The people here valued peace, friendship, and cooperation.

They firmly believed that a benevolent heart could conquer all.

Besides, they presumed that friendship, peace, and stability could be bought with money.

Robin checked the time, then turned and sprinted toward the harbor's motorboats.

He pointed at Jack and ordered, "Contact Franco immediately. Have his fleet inch closer toward the international waters.

"Maybe it'll intimidate the Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet enough to keep them from firing on Maverick."

Jack understood what that meant—Robin didn't have the superweapon system's controller with him.

His urgency could only mean that he feared the Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet might actually do something extreme like launch missiles or open fire on Maverick.

If that happened, no matter how powerful Robin was, there would be no way to save Maverick from a sea of explosions.

Jack immediately connected with Franco while racing by car toward the fleets at the outer edge of the eastern waters.

It would be unacceptable to him not to meet Robin's request.

Elliot and Brendon left Catherine behind and jumped onto a jet ski to follow Robin.

However, the distance was simply too far. Catching up with Snivy in a short time was nearly impossible.

Worse still, if Maverick continued another hundred nautical miles in pursuit, he'd cross into international waters.

There, the Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet was waiting like a pack of wolves, ready to pounce.

Their formation and posture made it obvious that they were prepared to eliminate both Maverick and Snivy at any moment.

While Robin and the others were speeding east in pursuit of Snivy, Shepherd was across the ocean in the Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance's headquarters.

He was watching a live video feed of the high-speed chase playing out in the eastern waters of Draconia.

"Dark Lord Caym hopes you won't miss this one and only chance.

"If you do, it will be almost impossible to kill him again.

"And then, all of us—everyone who once raised a blade against Dragon Manor—will be wiped out by Divine Drakebane, one by one."

Shepherd and the leaders of the top 20 families fell into heavy silence.

Moshe wasn't wrong.

However, there was one problem. If they failed again to kill Divine Drakebane in international waters, what would follow would be a storm of unimaginable retaliation.

As they hesitated, Moshe called again.

"Mr. Gilkes, if you refuse Dark Lord Caym's proposal and let this chance to kill Divine Drakebane slip by ...

"You know exactly what fate awaits the Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance.

"I'm certain that HexaPoint Tower will strike a deal with Divine Drakebane and join forces to obliterate you."

Finally, Shepherd and the leaders of the top 20 families made their decision. "Mr. Moshe, we accept your proposal," Shepherd said.

"But we have one condition.

"The ancient relic and the Golden Dragon Pendant must be handed over to the Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance."

Moshe laughed. "Mr. Gilkes, Dark Lord Caym has no objections as long as you're willing to open fire on Divine Drakebane."

Shepherd and the family leaders exchanged satisfied smiles.

"Deal."

"I'll issue the order immediately to the Panacea Warriors Alliance Fleet, stationed in the international waters off eastern Draconia, to kill Divine Drakebane."
