Shirley froze in place.
All the affection she once held for Robin seemed to stop, lost in time and space.
Kimberly let out a small laugh.
"My words might hurt, but they're just the truth.
"People talk about fairness in this world, but social classes still exist.
"Our royal class pretends to be the same as the rest of you to soothe the fragile egos of you commoners. Nothing more.
"The real situation?
"The special rights we enjoy, the way people treat us, and the rich life I live. Can you honestly say you can reach that?
"Just because we don't talk about it doesn't mean it's not there.
"You decide to ignore it. You'd rather pretend everything's fine than face reality.
"If those class differences weren't real, we wouldn't need to push ourselves so hard to get into elite colleges.
"But for people like you, no matter how hard you try, getting into those schools might still be out of reach.
"Things you dream about and work toward your entire life are just everyday stuff for us.
"For example, the wealth the Dunns built up over generations, I was born with far more than that.
"The money you've worked so hard for, I could've had that when I was three years old.
"What I've told you is merely the tip of the iceberg.
"In the end, we are not on the same level.
"We are the ones who make the rules. And you all? You're just bottom-feeders.
"Shirley, I'm only explaining all this so you'll understand that your family trying to rise to our level is laughable.
"To put it simply, you're not even good enough for Robin. You should back out of the wedding while you still have your pride."
Shirley calmly ran her fingers through her hair, the panic in her eyes slowly fading to ice.
This dark hair had once turned to frost for the man she adored.
But now, with Robinback and a bottle of Snow Dragon Pool, her elegance returned in full.
Shirley remarked, "The kings of Draconia have achieved unparalleled merit and are honored by everyone!
"That's because they earned their place through real struggle and sacrifice.
"People respect the brave ones, not those average folks who rely on their family name to act superior!"
Kimberly caught the meaning behind Shirley's words, that they were just using their ancestors' fame to control others. She retorted, "Hah, do you mean we're born into royalty but without talent? So what?
"This is what people call destiny!"
"It's the same system of ranks and levels I've talked about over and over!
"You and Robin are completely different. You get that, right?
"So, stepping away from this wedding would be better for everyone involved."
Shirley gave her a chilly look. "You want me to cancel this wedding? Does Robin know about this?"
That sharp, almost divine aura around her made Kimberly's heart skip a beat.
She hesitated for a moment, then finally replied, "Why would he need to speak up about something like that?
"Robin is now a hero, admired everywhere. Leaders, royals, and billionaires all show him respect.
"You want to talk about power? Even if you're from the royal family of Southmere, for Robin, you're completely unimportant! Now get out!"
Kimberly trembled for a moment.
She knew very well that if they actually made Robin angry, the Southmere Residence would truly lose all influence.
Besides, Lord Southmere had no idea what she and Eithan had been up to.
They were only trying to create something impressive to gain attention from the higher-ups and help Eithan climb the social ladder.
Right now, Catherine held the Westeria Token and was in charge of all intelligence work in the Westeria Military Zone.
Among the third generation of the royal families, they already stood out as top achievers.
People like Elliott, Maverick, and Brendon had made great contributions while working under Robin and were now trusted by high-level leaders.
Meanwhile, Eithan had been left in the dust.
Even their grandfather, Lord Southmere, had stopped caring much about his future. He had even advised that Eithan and Kimberly should quietly pull away from the political spotlight.
Rhett believed Eithan didn't have the talent or strength needed to succeed in that world.
If he ever stepped into the center of political power, it would only backfire on him.
But Eithan and Kimberly refused to be seen as the weakest in their generation.
They were determined to prove that they had what it took to be part of the most powerful circles on their own strength.
So, instead of following the usual path, they tried something else. They thought stirring things up between Robin and Shirley's relationship might get them noticed.
It was their way of showing the higher-ups that they were capable and ambitious.
As the argument grew more intense, Eithan quickly stepped in to stop Kimberly. He put on a calm smile and said, "Ms. Dunn, please don't misunderstand. This matter isn't what you imagine it to be ... "
