Kaiya Murray, the assistant beside Celine, said, "Linny, we should head into the venue now."
Celine glanced at Adam downstairs, then withdrew her gaze and turned around. "Let's go."
She and Kaiya were about to leave when she suddenly paused. Two people had appeared in front of her. It was Carly and Melody.
Adam hadn't been able to find Celine, but Carly and Melody had.
Their expressions were filled with shock. "Celine?"
After seeing old acquaintances again, Celine smiled slightly. "Carly, Melody, long time no see."
Carly had never expected that Celine, who had disappeared for three whole years, would suddenly show up in the Capitol—and at the Apex Gala, no less. She was stunned. "Celine, why are you here?"
Celine arched her elegant eyebrow and countered, "Why? Am I not allowed to be here?"
"Celine, you actually came to the Capitol? You shouldn't have. Carly is the daughter of the richest family now. This is her territory."
Carly looked at Celine arrogantly. "Celine, why didn't you tell me you were coming to the Capitol? I could have played host and entertained you properly."
Celine replied indifferently, "There's no need to be so hospitable. I'm here to attend the Apex Gala."
"What? You're attending the Apex Gala? Celine, what status do you have to attend the Apex Gala? As the nation-renowned genius Dr. C?" Carly asked in surprise.
Melody chimed in disdainfully, "Celine, do you know what kind of people are invited to this Apex Gala? They're all financial tycoons on the Billionaires List, the elite of the elite. Even if you're Dr. C, your wealth isn't at that level."
At that moment, Carly took out her invitation. "Celine, do you see this? It's my invitation. My father isn't coming, so I'm attending on his behalf. Of course, Adam is coming, too."
"Celine, you should leave now. You're not qualified to be here!"
Celine remained passive in Adam's arms, once again surrounded by his clean and refreshingly masculine scent. It felt so familiar, yet so distant.
She reached out and pushed him away. "Mr. Alvarez, I don't think our relationship is close enough for hugs upon meeting."
Adam froze at the cold and distant expression in Celine's eyes.
Carly quickly spoke up. "Adam, Celine has probably been with Perry all these years. Who knows, maybe they're already married."
Melody added, "That's right, Adam. Don't let Celine fool you again. She said she came to the Capitol to attend the Apex Gala."
Adam looked at Celine. "You're here for the Apex Gala?"
Celine nodded. "Yes."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam)
How can this be,Carly always gets away with everything and Celine intelligence is not working her at all....
Just as I thought. This could go on a few more chapters. But the bond between Fiona amd Celine is undeniable. Even without knowing that they are mother and daughter. Though I'm totally confused. Isn't there any resemblance between Celine and her parents? How couldn't they tell that she was their daughter?...
As expected of the dna results in favor of the wicked carly again.. so frustrating...
I hope the writer of this story will not prolong this…..what happened to the DNA…...
Can you upload more chapters per day, each chapter is very short you always keep us hanging...
Can’t wait for when Nigel will discover Celine is his child...
I was enjoying Celine being a formidable woman until the author put her abuser back in her way to make it seem she is weak willed with no physical control. This saddens me....
Regardless of how "sorry" the abusive man is. His regret is his own burden to carry....
When a woman divorces a man because he ill treated her, authors of these books, should stop making a women look desperate to go back with the abusive man. The real world is not like that. Many many women value themselves too much to return to their abusers....
Please this story is going round in circles……this writer🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️...
