The Doormat Wife’s Ultimate Glow-Up novel Chapter 250

Reese bit back a laugh and looked up at George.

“You really think I’m still the pushover I used to be? That I’d just let you do whatever you want with me, no questions asked?”

George met her eyes with a knowing look and slid a folder across the table. “Mr. Ratcliff, you’ll want to take a close look at this.”

Sebastian scoffed, barely glancing at the table. He was sure Reese didn’t have anything on him. But when he saw the settlement notice, and the document that had clearly been torn up and taped back together, his eyes widened, just for a second.

“Did you forget? You accused me of trying to kill your grandfather. You called the cops on me, even though you had nothing, just to force me to sign that agreement.”

Reese tapped the copy with her finger, her voice cool and steady. “What do you think everyone would say if they found out you used your grandfather’s life to threaten me, all to keep your wife—the one you never even acknowledged—from leaving you?

“Sebastian, you love using leverage against people, don’t you? Let’s talk terms.”

“I’ll make sure Ramos Corporation pays back every cent of the eighty million it owes Ratcliff Global. You’ll get it all in three months.

“And you? You’re coming to court with me. We’re getting divorced.”

“What if I say no?” Sebastian finally looked at her, his eyes cold and sharp. He hadn’t counted on Reese having so much evidence.

“Then we both go down. I’ll letting Ramos Corporation go, and those files will be headline news all over Bridger Lake.”

Reese shrugged, totally unfazed. “Everyone will know you kept your marriage a secret, flaunted your mistress in public, and used your dying grandfather to pressure your wife into dropping the divorce.

“Ramos Corporation was built on my grandfather and my mom’s hard work. It was supposed to protect me.

“But if they knew it would end up dragging me down, I think they’d support what I’m doing now.”

Her voice was soft but there was no backing down. “Either way, I’m ending this marriage.”

Could Reese know about the black box?

If Reese and Sebastian really went at it and this blew up, the fallout could destroy Ratcliff Global’s stock and enrage the entire board.

And if Jane admitted she planted the black box on purpose, the government would cut ties with Ratcliff Global. She might even end up in jail, and the Ratcliff family’s name would be ruined for good. Everything would be over.

It’d be better to let Sebastian divorce Reese and let the family cut their losses now.

With that in mind, Jane walked over to Sebastian and spoke quietly, “Sebastian, just let it go. The first hearing doesn’t guarantee a divorce anyway.

“If you push too hard, Ratcliff Global could be finished.”

Sebastian’s fists trembled as he stared at Reese, his face twisted with rage, frustration, and a hint of fear he couldn’t shake.
