The Doormat Wife’s Ultimate Glow-Up novel Chapter 271

He tapped the file with his finger. “Dad said as long as you sign this, after the Meyer family buys Ramos Corporation, your shares won’t change.”

Reese glanced at the contract, black ink on white paper, and didn’t move a muscle. She gave a half-smile. “I’m not signing that.”

If Dylon had come after her with something else, she might have been worried. But he was clueless enough to stir up drama about her fighting for control of Ramos Corporation.

He must’ve forgotten she still had proof of how he shorted Ramos Corporation back then.

“Reese!” Hank, frustrated with her stubbornness, raised his voice. “Have you seen what’s happening right now?”

He opened the stock market app, and the sharp drop on the green line stung the eyes.

“Ramos Corporation’s stock has dropped twenty-three percent since this morning. Almost a billion dollars in value, gone. The banks have frozen our credit. All our partners have pulled out. Even the factory workers are threatening to strike!”

He leaned in, his face tight with anxiety. “Let me be honest with you. I’ve already talked to the other shareholders. Tomorrow morning, they’re handing their shares over to Dad and me.”

Reese looked at him calmly. “And what good will that do?”

“I own nearly forty percent of Ramos Corporation. As long as I don’t agree, you can’t acquire the company. I’m still the legal owner.”

“You—”

Hank jumped up, jabbing a finger at her. “You’re being ridiculous. Are you really going to watch mother’s hard work go up in smoke?”

Reese brushed his hand away before he could poke her in the nose and let out a cold laugh. “That’s still better than having someone who would betray their own family take it over.”

She didn’t want to argue anymore. She grabbed her bag and walked out of the room.

Her phone buzzed. It was a message from Matthew.

She opened it and saw Tara’s prenatal medical report. Reese slowed down as her eyes landed on the words: “Chromosomal karyotype 47,XYY. Termination recommended.”

XYY syndrome?

So the baby really did have issues. No wonder Tara staged that scene at the conference.
