The Doormat Wife’s Ultimate Glow-Up novel Chapter 331

“No, no, it’s no trouble at all!”

Karter waved his hands in a hurry. “I’ll text him right away. As soon as I get an answer, I’ll let you know.”

Matthew had always said Reese’s business came first. That’s why he’d called Karter back from overseas and made him drop a promising market expansion just to be here for her. Honestly, Matthew himself had been wondering why Mr. Ratcliff’s will was still a big secret and had already started digging into it.

“Thank you. I really appreciate it.”

Once the warehouse situation was handled, Reese said goodbye to Karter and got into her car. As she buckled her seatbelt, she sent a message to George.

“George, can you help me find out which lawyer Grandpa met with before he passed?”

If she could just figure out who drafted the will, she’d have a better idea of what was really happening. With Matthew busy wrapping up the Blade project, she couldn’t just pile everything on him.

Pulling up the GPS, Reese headed toward Ramos Corporation. After the chaos at the warehouse, she needed to show her face and calm everyone down.

She had just merged onto the expressway when her phone rang. The number wasn’t saved, but after a second’s hesitation, she picked up.

“Hello?”

“Reese, what’s going on between you and Sebastian?”

Bailey’s voice was sharp with anger.

“You two are married, so why are Ramos Corporation and Ratcliff Global fighting like this?

“I heard you exposed him for vouching for that woman. Do you have any idea how much trouble this causes for Sebastian? How could you be so reckless?

“She’s just some woman. Sebastian already told you she took advantage of him. Is that really worth dragging out in public?

“If you keep fighting like this, how are you ever going to have another child with him?

“So what?” Bailey sounded unimpressed. “That contract’s already signed. Vista Tech has the rights now.”

“Your brother and I are on our way to BlackOak right now. Any idea why?

“We’re about to discuss the next phase of the partnership. Reese, don’t let a little bit of skill go to your head. If you want those shares, you’ll have to give Sebastian another child.

“That’s all you’re good for anyway.

“Think about it. Go apologize to Sebastian. Live like a proper wife. Call me when you’re pregnant.”

The call ended with a sharp beep, leaving only the empty dial tone echoing in the car. Anger flashed in Reese’s eyes.

Bailey was trying to cut her off now that she’d served his purpose. Even if she really did have another child, he’d just find some new excuse to hold the shares over her head.

She couldn’t let this drag on any longer. She needed to get those shares—cleanly, decisively, and on her own terms.
