The Elder paused, looking a bit confused. "The list isn't fair?"

"Yep," Penelope nodded. "I think there's a name missing from it."

The Elder ran through the names in his head but didn't come up with anyone they might've missed. "Who?" he asked.

Everyone else was just as curious as the Elder, their eyes fixed on Penelope.

With a slight smile, Penelope slowly said, "Miss Mira."

Nick's eyes narrowed, clearly caught off guard that Penelope would bring up Mira at this moment.

"Miss Mira?" The Elder frowned, remembering the rude and arrogant behavior he'd seen earlier at the hospital and quickly dismissed the idea. "She's not right for the heir evaluation."

From the start, Mirabella was never in the running for the heir candidates list.

Penelope, unfazed by Nick's cold stare, calmly replied, "I see it differently. Miss Mira may have just returned to the family, but she's reportedly quite impressive and is one of Keir's top people. Her name should be on this list."

"She wasn't brought up in the Davis family and hasn't had our kind of training. Even if we add her name, she'd likely flunk the basic evaluations."

The Elder said bluntly, and even though he held back a bit, the disdain was clear.

Jaime, standing nearby, rolled his eyes and spoke up before Penelope could respond, "Even without the Davis family training, what if Miss Mira's got the chops? Otherwise, why would Keir have everyone call her Miss Mira?"

To Jaime, adding another name didn't change much. Agreeing with Penelope was just going with the flow.

"I don't agree with this heir evaluation, and I definitely won't let my sister join in," Nick broke in coldly, his eyes sweeping over everyone.

The Elder, knowing how to handle Nick, wasn't fazed by his opposition. "The majority rules, Mr. Nick. That's always been the Davis family way. Your say doesn't count here."

He paused, then with a slight smile added, "Of course, if you win this heir evaluation, Mr. Nick, you can change the Davis family rules to your liking."

They were set on adding his sister's name.

Nick kept a straight face, about to speak when a steady, commanding voice interrupted.
