The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1793

After leaving Lockie's place, Mirabella got a call from Grady halfway through her drive. Without much delay, she changed course and headed back to the Davis estate.

As she approached the grand gates, a flashy sports car zoomed out, its sleek body gleaming in the sunlight like a streak of brilliant yellow. The engine's roar was so loud it seemed to tear the sky apart, definitely making a statement.

As the cars passed each other, the person inside the sports car, wearing sunglasses, turned their head slightly. Mirabella, who had been fiddling with her phone, sensed a sharp gaze on her and looked up casually.

Their eyes met from afar, and it was as if sparks flew between them. In no time, the cars had passed each other. Mirabella rested her hand on her chest and gently stroked her chin, pondering if that was a provocative look.

"Your rival?" James asked nonchalantly.

Mirabella turned to him with an innocent look. "Me? I'm such a friendly person."

"Heh." James chuckled lightly.

Mirabella raised an eyebrow, confused.

Within minutes, they arrived at the villa. James had some errands to run, so he dropped Mirabella off and left.

Inside, Grady was in the middle of a conversation with Nick but stopped when he saw Mirabella return.

"Hey, Uncle, Nick," Mirabella nodded.

"How's Lockie doing?" Grady asked, pouring her a cup of coffee.

Mirabella settled into the sofa. "He's doing okay." Grady, knowing her medical skills, seemed a bit surprised. "There were rumors he wouldn't make it past twenty-five. Guess those were wrong."

Managing the family's ventures was one thing, but now being tossed into the running for the main estate's heir? Was her uncle worried she had it too easy?

Mirabella pressed her fingers to her brow, recalling the person she'd seen at the estate gates. She finally understood the meaning behind their challenging look.

"Uncle, I think you can take my name off," Mirabella said, exasperated.

"This list was decided collectively; even I can't change it," Grady said, his eyes showing a hint of helplessness.

Nick, standing nearby, thought, "You sure can lie with a straight face."

Grady sighed and continued, "But Mira, would you really want to see all of Chester's hard work handed over to someone else?"
