The Ex-Husband's Apology (by Sebastian Grey) novel Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Catalina lowered her head, playing dumb.

Don’t worry, Grandpa,Brayan said, glancing sidelong at Jennifer with a charming, unreadable smile. I’m nothing but great to her.

Jennifer looked up at Brayan and found that smile ironic.

Maybe in Brayan’s eyes, he truly had given her enough.

After the meal, Brayan left the house with Jennifer and Catalina.

Catalina was visibly upset. When they reached the car, tears were rolling down her cheeks.

Catalina, Grandpa wasn’t targeting you,Brayan comforted.

I knowI justI just wanted to make a good impression on your family. It’s been years since I last saw them. But I didn’t expect things to turn out this wayI’m sorry, Brayan. I embarrassed you

Catalina cried harder, tears streaming down.

Jennifer saw Brayan gently wrap his arm around Catalina’s shoulders and help her into the car.

She was going to tell Brayan not to bother giving her a ride, but before she could say anything, Brayan beat her to it.

You take a cab home/

Brayan’s gaze toward Jennifer was calm and distant.

It was completely different from the way he looked at Catalina.

She had expected it, yet Jennifer still felt a pang in her heart.

She abruptly turned to leave, but Brayan suddenly grabbed her arm from behind.

Brayan’s grip was stronger than Jennifer anticipated, and it hurt her.

Perhaps sensing Jennifer’s resistance, Brayan cased up slightly.

I just wanted to remind you, don’t lash out at Catalina out of jealousy. She’s not going to take your place as Mrs. LeBlanc.

After speaking, Brayan got into the driver’s seat, leaving Jennifer standing rooted to the spot. She opened her mouth trying to say something but then thought better of it.

Before the car drove off, the window at the driver’s side was rolled down. Jennifer saw Brayan lean slightly out.

Oh right, don’t go back to Skyline Estates. I won’t be coming home tonight.

That intentional reminder made Jennifer laugh in exasperation.

Skyline Estates was where she and Brayan had their marital home.

I wasn’t planning on going back there.

Jennifer meant to bring up divorce again. She hadn’t mentioned it earlier in the car because Catalina was there, and she didn’t want to give Catalina the satisfaction. But now seemed like the pect opportunity.

However, before she could speak, Brayan preempted her as if he already knew what she was thinking.

I’m not getting a divorce. Don’t even think about it.

His luxury car sped away, leaving silence behind.

Jennifer walked along the main road, hoping to catch a cab, but if it wasn’t easy. She tried Uber too, but no one picked up her request.

Just then, a black Passat pulled up in front of her.
